Finally the wife agrees to get a set of speedies. I am looking at some tyre configurations (second hand tyres to start with). I have picked out some sizes for the local wreckers and tyres suppliers to find for me second hand.
I am hanging off the Super Trippers for a while, as I dont want to rush into fender cutting.
The sizes I had in mind were
185/80/14 with 651mm OD. These should not have any issues but are low on my prefered list.
195/75/14 with 648mm OD I had these before on a MY and worked well scraped a little with no lift and wound up standard suspension. I would not expect rubbing on the L series with a 2" lift.
205/70/14 with 642mm OD. Would anyone have tried these on an L series and did they rub on full lock??
215/70/14 with 656mm OD. Would anyone have tried 215's on an L series with a 2"lift?? These are my preferance BUT I am concerned with rubbing on full lock with 215 wide??
Sand tyres again
For sand you will want the best compromise of getting a good footprint when letting the tyre pressure down. It will want to have enough give in the side walls to do this.
The Nangkangs Super Trippers are what I am running, and are a good choice.
195/75/14 worked well for me as a compromise on my MY.
205/70/14 have seens this done before on a MY locally.

Thanks subanator. I suppose if I can get a cheap set of 215/70/14's second hand we will all know when i test them out. I dont expect to pay more than $20 each second hand so I am not losing a lot.
They would have good height and a wide footprint as well. I will let everyone know when I track some down. If not I will go 205's as someone has tested them already.
