Amk's Leone Build Up

Post by amk » Sun Jan 03, 2010 6:26 am

Hi,

I’m working on my 92 Leone and would also like some help from you guys, went through some post some great work done, I don’t think I can come even close to what you guys have done with your rides. This is what I got for it

1)Got a Wrx 96 Engine for it, using a Z4 Ecu with a stage 3 chip on it.

2)An STi competition Gearbox.

3)I’m using rear wheel drive since I wasn’t able to get a 4:11 diff.

4)I’m building the body, panel beating and respraying. The body work was terrible.

5)I would really want to install the A/C have no idea how to go about it.

6)Was wondering if anyone had a moon roof installed would love to have one.

The car was white all over but matt black bonnet with a huge hole for the intercooler, I could not get someone to make a scoop for the bonnet, it would really get hot in the cabin so I cut the bonnet with a grinder ill work on that later.

Here are some pics.

Thanks,

Regards,

Amk.

Sounds good. RWD...So you've had the gearbox centre specially modified to output only to the rear and disabled the front diff completely?

you dont need to have the box modified from what ive seen it helps but yeah.
your meant to take the centre diff out and replace it iwth a forged section to stop the oil swirling or some rubbish, what we did at work was just remover the front driver shafts and make a set of bolt/glue on plates for a screwed comp box we had.
it was an amazing car while we had it, 200kw to the rear with the amazing handling and stability of the 4wd except that it would drift and all it was so balanced.
good job with the build, will need a bit more work to look perfect i somthing done with that bonnet have fun

Well I welded the center diff that’s all, blocked the front shaft holes with a steel cap I got fabricated.

It’s really cool I can drift all around and it handles well all you got to do it is master it and control the drift the only problem is when it rains then I’m ice skating all over the road lol and If I get stuck than I’m done lol I need help otherwise I love it

At times I think of going the AWD way but than I change my mind, yes it’s not safe at pick especially 1st n 2nd gear it gets really wild if you’re not used to it all I can say is you’re heading for a crash lol,

Wish I could get a rear hand brake modified on the drums I can’t seems to get the rear disks

I hate doing body works especially the sanding part…

I would like to spray the engine bay and trunk metallic deep red the rest of the body white gloss and the bonnet matt black, how does that sound?
