No probs dude.. btw, if you don't have a clutch aligning tool then get it as close to the centre as you can and leave the pressure plate bolts loose (firm enough to stop the friction disc from moving) and then join the engine and box together and use the starter motor hole to do up all the pressure plate bolts once the engine and box are neatly married together :)

Why? aren't you using the NA box? then you should be able to use the standard cable.

update

so today i was aiming to do everything on this list;
-put the engine back in
-put the cvs in and get the car rolling
-put the power steering pump in
-change over alternators
-put the radiator in
-and to trial fit the intercooler

as for the intercooler it is a really tight fit as you will see

and i finished all of it with no dramas :)

so here are some pics of todays efforts

Cool.. Great to see you're moving ahead with the conversion. About the TMIC, I'd use and earlier model WRX one or better still, use the proper RS WAIC that way you don't need a massive bonnet scoop.

You'll also need to plug the hole near the back of the dump too, it must be off a later model, also what Paul said, go for the WAIC set up or the earlier angled top mount.

update

well i have finished the conversion and it is running and driving okay.
i will get pics of it all finished once i wash the 2cm layer of dust of it and tidy up the engine bay i bit.

so i used the rs motor instead of the 99 wrx engine i had, its pretty much stock with a tdo5h and a 02 sti TBE and a 99 TMIC. i have just ordered a nice alloy radiator to replace the stock lib auto 1 lol. and as of now im going to install all the parts i have now then i will prob be on the hunt for sti box of some sort.

and heres some pics of what i have just purchased

Are you aware that a turbo radiator won't bolt straight into a N/A body? The lower radiator support is different on the RS and is recessed down.

I've been running my V3 STI conversion on a stock Lib radiator, never been a problem in 6yrs, you just need to connect the hose from the header tank to a fitting on your top tank, the Gen 2 has a bleed screw that you just get a brass fitting to screw into then attach the hose, just means you end up with 2 radiator caps.

Very old diagram but it might give you an idea.

hey mate that pretty much exactly what i did.

but ive already purchased the new 1 and i installed it today it was i bit higher then the stock lib but was an easy fit. but the thermo fans are around 20mm to short so a had to make 4 little extensions to mount them.

Sweet, after having 2 plastic tanks go on mine, one costing me a head job (not the nice kind) I went for a brass & copper one, been great since.
