Well Elly's having a rest and is now patiently waiting a heart transplant.

Image

I figured with the low compression and low performance i might as well do it properly. Theres an ea82 on fleabay I've got my eye on atm.

And I've got the time to spend on Elly now as i have just bought this for a DD

I figured i might aswell get a loan so mortgages and the like are easier down the track. Good excuse yeah? ;)

If that doesn't work out for you I've got an oily long block (basically), just swap your intake manifold over and it should be good to go. It has been sitting for 18 months... Up to you if you want it, I'm not asking much for it - you know how to contact me ;)

No worries - and there's no pressure to move this engine on either, let me know and we'll sort something out ;)

Exhaust too loud or not enough of a subaru beat going on - kind of droning rather than giving you that smile every time you plant the foot?

Cheers

Well unfortunately the seller of the Liberty has become un-contactable.
Seems hes sold the car to someone else while i was sorting my loan, and doesn't want to give my deposit back. I got a proper receipt and rego, but theres not much i can really do :(

so I've found this instead

sorry for phone pic, better ones once i pick it up.

Unfortunately its a sedan, but that will push me to get the L series on the road for camping trips this summer :D

Surely there is. If he's sold it when you've got a deposit on it he should be returning the deposit - unless you've defaulted on some written agreement. How much was this deposit if you don't mind me asking?

And when you say you've got rego you mean the remainder of his rego or you've got the rego in your name? If in your name he's done a dodgy on you.

I'd be demanding my money back, I don't know what other avenues you've got other than to demand it back...

Cheers

Bennie

PS - i'll get on to your PM shortly between work ;)

I left $400, but made sure i got his license number and a copy for the registration to make sure he was the owner. Lets just say i learnt a very expensive mistake and i dont see the point in trying to seek revenge.

anyway back to my new car, which despite the higher ks(197000) is in much better condition than the other.

I went for a spin through Mt Macedon and surrounds yesterday, and all i can say is the grip is amazing, especially compared to the L series and my old Datsun!

Finally got sorted moving out of home and got around to some more work
Got the work shed to myself for a week+RDO and...
Image
Timing belt and the loose tensioner have been done!
I ended up using some vice grips to stop the crank pulley moving and a big f**k off breaker bar.
Image
also a new exhaust, note the scar from where the old exhaust melted the bumper bar!

RWC booked in for Thurs, fingers crossed!

That's when the welder comes out and you make a rear tyre carrier with a replacement bar

I lost the plastic skin on my rear bar, this prompted me to get the rear carrier when the lift went in and about 6 months of driving without the plastic :???:

All the best on the roadworthy! Hope you get it through first time and we'll look forward to catching up with you in Robe or the little desert

Cheers

well unfortunately the rwc didnt go as planned, a whole list of things that my first rwc didn't point out. having said this it was a different place.
my front drive shafts rattle apparently
strut top is a little bit cracked
seat belt doesn't retract fast enough and another one is a bit frayed
iv gotta clean all the oil from when it had the cracked cv boot
tie rod end is worn
not all lock pins are in
the carpet doesnt go high enough up the passenger footwell
and some things not secured properly like battery and grille(zip ties aren't good enough) :p
i wont be able to get all these done in the 7 days

looks like another trip I'm gonna miss :(

That's one I've never heard before. How is that necessary for rego?

Bugger mate!

Should've stuck with the original RWC joint...
purp wrote:That's one I've never heard before. How is that necessary for rego?
It does seem rather tight, but the vehicle must have a floor covering as it is considered a safety device in the event of an accident. The floor apparently will stop you cutting up your feet if the floor pan folds in on them or cracks in an accident... If this is the case, I wouldn't be worried about your feet and the floor pan!

Best of luck with the next round dobo.

Cheers
