You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.

thanks guys, i went with a colour for the rims as close to brake dust grey as i could get. i have had white rims before and these grey ones never need cleaning.
and toongs, it goes way better too. its at 15.6 now, but will be mid 14 with the rear diff, then to wind the boost up to 14psi or so for low 14 i hope.

If it works, pull it apart to see why.Low 14s ?? Should be able to go a lot better than that surely ? Or is that before you put the 2.4 motor in ?wrxer wrote:thanks guys, i went with a colour for the rims as close to brake dust grey as i could get. i have had white rims before and these grey ones never need cleaning.

yea thats with the 1.8 thats in it now. the 2.4 i need to decide if i want 500 or 600hp.
and 11s are in the bag. unfortunately evo and subies are the same at that level and either will spit gearboxes fairly regularly unless a heap of coin is thrown at it. the other option is to go for a auto conversion.
i going easy on the 1.8 as i hope to sell it as a going proven engine, and it will pay for the rods and pistons for the 2.4.
i wish we had e85 in wa

if i could drive...but the ute weight is 1066kg stock, but may be 1300 by the time i finished. ie, awd gearbox, rear diff, tailshaft etcniterida wrote:500hp would just get you in the 9s
if you look on post 26 in this thread, you will see the jumbuck rims when they were brumby rims, i had them blasted and powdercoated. the jumbuck i converted to 5x114.3mm stud on the front by utilizing tr magna hubs and discs.
rears are redrilled from 4x100 (jummy) to 5x100mm. the rims are 5 stud multifit and squeeze in nicely (no rubbing) with 215/35/18 on front and 235/45/18 on the rear. this really accentuates the rake on the ute (stock rake is 4") but in the above pic i had king lows lowered an extra 38mm in the front, but it is too low and i have another set of kinks lows in it now as the bump stops were getting a hiding and thats after i shortened the stops by miles
