Wow, that is really low!wombataaron wrote:Its 28mm of clearance to the bottom of the sump guard
You need to lift it! Hahaha
I think you mean 280mm, 28cm.

ABS is your braking assistance, when the lights on it means its not working. So you will easily be able to lock your brakespurp wrote:Is that an ABS warning light? Could be an ABS sensor, that is the only problem I've ever had with ABS, so it is always the first thing I think of...
What is VDC?
Bodge wrote:I'm not certain but I think the ABS and traction control both use the abs sensor on the drive shaft.
Hopefully a wire has come loose or wasn't attached properly during install. Maybe the wiring is too short after the lift and needs extending like the brake lines sometimes do?
Best of luck!
Any idea what i should be looking for? I looked under the car and everything looked normal, would there be anything visible if i took off the wheels?FROG wrote:spot on Bodge the VDC system (Vehicle Dynamic Control) uses the abs sensors and after a lift I would check everything in that area
I followed the wires back from the ABS unit to where they go through the firewall behind the strut towers and found there isn't much slack in the line, possibly with a bit of movement from the suspension on the road it could be pulling on the line, will try and feed a bit more wire through by unclipping the clip behind the firewall so it can dangle and move abit more, the passenger side one i can't even see cause there is crap over the top of where it goes through the firewall:(Alex wrote:The sensor bolts into the top of the hub. Id just trace the wires to see if anything is abnormal
Im guessing this part is located behind the wheels?FROG wrote:Also check the tone wheel - the bit the sensor reads , it may have moved a little on installation
yep bolts to back of hubwombataaron wrote:I followed the wires back from the ABS unit to where they go through the firewall behind the strut towers and found there isn't much slack in the line, possibly with a bit of movement from the suspension on the road it could be pulling on the line, will try and feed a bit more wire through by unclipping the clip behind the firewall so it can dangle and move abit more, the passenger side one i can't even see cause there is crap over the top of where it goes through the firewall:(

So if i remove the wheel what will i be looking for if the sensor isn't working properly? Do i have to remove the disc brake assembly to see the hub ....because i don't really have the experience to be removing them:PFROG wrote:yep bolts to back of hub
brass looking wheel with teeth
Actually, if you have a look at the front and rear arches you might find that the front arch is actually higher than the rear - this is how it is on my L series so I wouldn't be surprised if subaru have carried this design on to later models.wombataaron wrote:Just got the car back with the rear springs installed, took a tape measure out and measured from the top of the wheel arch to the tops of the tyres front and rear and found the front is 2cm higher in the front then in the back:( HD springs from king springs musn't raise the car if it has self levellers:( drat o well im done with it 2 centimetres isnt gonna kill me.
Im 99% sure a standard stock gen 3 Outback is 190mm at the lowest point.El_Freddo wrote:And really, what's more important is the ground clearance from the lowest point under the car! To get a good idea of what this might be you really need to do a before and after measurement...
What ever you do, don't drive to Geraldton WA like this.. I got a lovely $100 fine on our way to Exmouthwombataaron wrote:
