Pictures of my Cars
Beetle will have a EA81 in the next month or so.
The leone we bought at a donar to put the engine and raditor and seats in the BAJA, But when we got it home and checked it it was to good to wreck so I put 2 tyres and got a RWC and regoed it.
The new engine for the BAJA should be at my home today will post pics when it get here.
We take the BAJA on the beach and to 4wd parks like black duck and levuka.

Thanks postie
It will be even more hardcore with the subie motor in it.
Over the next 12 months we put a 3in raised front beam, raise the rear 3in and a 3in body lift and a kombi gearbox for the gearing and stronger and then we will paint it.
I run31x10.5x15 mudterrian off road, on the beach31x10.5x15 alterrians that are nearly bald and on the road 235x75x15

well the ea81 arrived on monday, I was really surprised that the engine still had the mud and dirt from when it was in the other buggy and it shows no signs of any oil leaks.
I have not looked closely at the carbie but it is a duel throat webber.
So hopfully in the next few weeks we will start putting in the BAJA.
Can't wait to have all that extra power.

hi
well today we put the subie motor in and had it running for a very short time as we have not fitted the radiator yet YAHOO!!!!!!!.
So next weekend we will be working on the engine cage modifying it so we can fit the radiator and the exhust. we are hoping to have the motor all done in the next three weeks.
During the week I removed the front beam (Drum Brakes) and replaced it with a disc brake one.
The first picture is the front of the car without the beam
2nd one is the beam on the grass after taking it out
3rd one is the new disc brake beam in the car.
4th one is the subie motor sitting in place

Report on Subie engine transplant
Hi
Well we are 75 % of the way to having it finished, It is up and running with the radiator set up in the temp place until I get the car back from the muffler shop tomorrow, which will lower the muffler below the centre cage mount so next weekend we can finish the cage and mount the raditaor in it's final place and finish wiring up the thermo fans and make a sump bash place to keep the sump safe.
Well after driving the beetle around the local streets oh boy what big difference The old VW now flys .
A bit of details of the engine ,EA81
It has a Tighe 102T cam, it has only done 2000k's since a full rebuild with new heads a weber progressive cabie not sure on the size have not loooked and a good flowing exhust.
It revs out at 7500 redline but stops pulling hard at 6500 .
Will post pictures when it is set up ready to go the the engineers for the blue plate.
By the way the new disc brakes work very well.
Got to luv Subie power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi GTlegs.
Thats a fair question.
Hopefully we will paint the old boy by this time next year as we still have a few things to do to him.
First up a beetle is very light compared to most 4wd's so we bounce over bumps and holes. And with the motor in the back it the weight right over the drive wheels.
surprisely a BAJA driven right can get to most place a 4wd can and some where 4wd can't
The ride is pretty good maybe not as smooth as a 4wd but not bad.
On the beach we have passed bogged 4wds and had not trouble at all.
The best part of a BAJA is when to pass a 4wd that is bogged or they can't get any higher the look on the peoples faces when you pass in a VW is just great.
