Rim Size...?
Hi Brett, love the wheels....!!BYB-01 wrote:I went for the Bridgestone duelers. 225x70/16. Quiet tyre but I hate them already. The tread is too narrow for the case. I recommend you pick some thing else.
What size are they...???
You say they have 225/70R16's on there.
Ive just spoken to TEMPE TYRES, the main aftermarket Rim company, in NSW and they say that this rim (Starcorp Racing SHIKAYNE) is not available in 16".....

I have a mate that owns Goodyear at Caboolture. I just went in and told them I wanted some brochures. Picked out the wheels I liked that were available in a 16x7, marked them and then dropped the brochures back. Rang him about 3 days later and asked which ones were available for Subaru.
There was quite a few of them and those ones are the ones I picked out of the bunch.

Hopefully this will slow the roos down a bit before they hit the important parts of the car. Brand new bullbar and not half an hour after fitting it I was in to it with a hacksaw and grinder. The centre bar between the main loop has been removed and being relocated lower to allow me to fit the spot lights.
Fitting the LSD to it tomorrow if all goes to plan. Maybe an extra little bit of lift too if I can be bothered.

I did change wheels and tyres. It came with 17 inch wheels with pretty much road tyres. I opted for the 16 inch wheels and some Bridgestone 225-70/16 in the D694 pattern. I have been informed that they are no longer making this pattern, so I suppose that means something different next time.LUXO_8 wrote:im sorry for bumping an old thread, but this outback is wicked.... pretty much the same height i want mine to be.
how has it gone offroad? did you change the tyres to something more suitable?
thanks
I haven't had it in the bush other than dirt roads and minor tracks around some fishing areas I know. Nothing really exciting that way yet. I have had it up the beach heaps though. Probably done over 1000 k's on the beach in it already. Bribie has been getting a flogging lately while the fish are on.
It goes quite well on the beach. Not as good as the old one but it only has half the power and smaller tyres. It still goes well though and I wouldn't hesitate to take it up the beach on high tide. I won't tow any thing (camper) at high with it until we get some more power and bigger rubber under it.
Wow that car is looking amazing Brett! Let me know when you're heading up to bribie next, I'd be keen to tag along, never actually driven the beaches ( or fished them ) properly yet. By next weekend I should have a new toy to test on the beach too.
