Hey Rohan, what's the converted white Brumby on your website? Looks in better nick.

Yeah, Weapon! i built that for a mate. he rang me one day chasing a ea81, i said why, he said he bought a wrxBrumby from the handy trader, and the chassis too rusted for rego, so he bought a stocko with crap motor from the sunshine coast, drove it home, took them both to a 'mechanics' and they told him cant be done (or similar) more like they cant do it. so he rings me up looking for a standard engine for his new shell, and i say, forget that, bring it ova, ill do it. (a little over confidently) anyways longstory short i built him the T-Rex Brumby, got a rusty shell to decorate my yard, $1200 and a good bit of learning. Win Win. he couldnt be happier, Me neither. just trying to organise a 'Photo shoot' coz i didnt get too many fotos at the time. Goes Hard, dont slow down too well. stock brakes see.EJ20T, 5speed, STI intercooler, 2inch lift. pretty sweet, but a little stock for me.

Yeah,it has been a while. as you may remember, i was living/working in the dirt here.

Image

Well i got Evicted, (coz my landlord got evicted, and needed his house back) So I folded everything i own into my Brumby, took the rest of my cars to Byfeild, and attempted to drive to a mates place, about 5 kms away. but it was too rough, and wouldnt chage gears, steer left, stop or idle. was pretty wild ride anyways. so i drove about a kilometer (but everyone within 10 would have heard) then towed it the rest of the way. parked it, tarped it, and moved in with my mum in a unit. for 9 months she sat, occasionally illd go start it and chase the little creatures out. Rats chewed my WRX seats, and it was going to endup as bad as if i didnt even start fixing it (sometimes i wonder why i did myself:confused:) but then i decided to buy a place. I looked at a 12mx9m shed on an acre and was relly exited but the bank found that a bit unusuall and wouldnt lend me any coin for it, so i bit the bullet and bought an average suburban 'house' and they couldnt help me out quick enough. so i bought this>

Image

and not long later Leo Rang us, and i built his car, went to the world rally near Nimbin (sh*thole) then, feeling all inspired started on my car. its been pretty slow going, being a homeowner keeps one pretty poor, but i bought a computer and wirless, a mig, a digicam and now, well here we are. still alive and kicking! Cheers Guys

(lifestory over:))

That's an awsome effort mate! It looks kind of nasty but I'm guessing its just the paint... Or you're practising for a "show stopping" brumby

Great effort, glad you've solved your location worries - PITA when life gets in the way of your dreams and aspirations...

Keep up the good work and the photo journal!

Cheers

Bennie

Feel free to comment, I'lld love to hear what you think.

Cheers, Rohan Maxim.

to be honest "holy crap!" crossed my mind a couple times :) but looks like your on a mission getting rid of rust. Keep the pics coming

A Mission for sure. It wasnt ment to be like this, i thought illd buy a car with the cage done EJ in, logbooked for racing and even the right colour, but things went horribly wrong. But I'm getting there slowly. start at the front and head back is the plan. then fit all my nice shiny bits and peices (which are all pretty much done, its just the shell now. then Lots of fiddling i imagine)

Bennie it IS the paint that makes it look ugly. I have a saying if the gerni can get it off, then it isnt on good enough. i dont wanna be scared to wash it for peeling paint. i also dont want to use bog atall, but my panel beater 'mate' won't come round and give me any tips. so it'tl probly have a few dents on the outside. but its comming along. ive got a ton of photos, and only posting the importrant ones to show progress. both side floor are almost fixed, with a sunken bit on the d/s for a little fire extingusher but ill probly wait till they're finished to post, so as i can do a 'complete' showing through of it.

ill post some pics of my engine soon too, its gunna look mad in a silver bay. soooo keen to finish, yet not rushing it atall. 'show stopping' i like that, you're too kind. i am practising, and learning heaps, for future builds. next time i think ill start with pipe and a bender, then put panels over the top. I consider myself a 'Street Machiner' at heart, though im yet to own a V8(neally did, a 1960 dodge phoenix for 8K! will regret that for ever i think.). i wana get my ute in the mag, but being a four banger it may cause some outrage, so im going to supercharge it. got one SC14 already ( for after RWC, will probly need to remove my barwork though, but u get that) and wanna fit two. (Built engine, no 'spider' intake and alot of custom. a SC14 is good from a 1.4 to a 2.2 litre, which means kinda maxing it out. so if i run two, barely spinning (I understand Losses but DGAF) i should have 2.8 litres worth of air. thats my reasoning anyways.) thats all later on though

tossing up ideas for colours. Blue for sure, just think WR Blue may be over done and a little bit average per se' even though its in homage of the 22B. im liking the current mazda 3. a bit lighter and nice and metallic. either that, or a few year old camry, light blue, or almost silver blue. a small issue for now, but in my mind.

anywayz, bed now.

Cheers, Rohan.

Cheers, Rohan

What colour is that? Looks like liquid chrome but it might just be the flash.
