not sure I could get away with having a one year old under the bonnet working the 3 year old and the 7 year old perhaps

if I could find an old air filter/intake setup from a twin carb VW station wagon mk2 or mk3 I would sell it as they are getting to be like rocking horse poop on this side of the Island

and unless I find the air scoop Im looking for the bonnet will stay as is

hopefully I will have an accelerator by around lunch time today :)

think along the lines of forward control vehicles and their carb feed fittings so air can travel from a remote air filter to carby. I scored one with an API motor years back for my Maz1300 (dunno what it came out of?) I just fitted a oiled pod air filter off it. It breathed rather well. Often found myself sitting at lights at the same time a dealership let their overalls out to lunch. I get the green and just S N O R T !! They always looked for where the noise was coming from :)

LOL.. Yes I'm cringing

Is the flat spot there because you didn't have the vacuum line on or is the throttle pump not working?

The flat spot was caused by the vacuum advance line being off, not that I realised as there are 3 hoses that go into a + piece to make the advance available (that's how it was on the ford motor so hey) it wasn't until
I was playing with the air mixture that I found out. (after the video was shot) The throttle pump works very well (not as good as the Holley was at drowning the engine) and the engine is very responsive even though I only have 3/4s of complete acceleration (probably too much)

This afternoon when I get home from the carnival-e :) I will film with my good camera so there is a non furry image and sound that's not from the bottom of a lake

and next time I'm up in Perth we will have to sort out the exhaust, the carby linkages and anything else that can be improved :)

Thanks Mark and thanks for your help off the board, because if I had not found this one I would have been asking you for help.

there is a story behind the adaptor plate as well

I went into a local parts store with my two youngest in tow and was looking for a blank adaptor plate that went from holley to the same size intake as weber I found one for $41.95 and went to pay for it the guy rung it up and said $57.95 and I was unamused and pointed out that it came off a hook saying $41.95 he said well thats the price and when you take into sales tax that would be correct. (sales tax WTF how much sales tax)

at this point Im pretty sure I went beetroot red and said "well thats false advertising and you should give me the product at the advertised price" his response was "well thats the price or theres the door" so i walked out with my children and said f... you too pal!!!

later I recounted the story to my wife who promptly complained to the manager in person, who the apologised to me and showed interest in the project.

it was when I got talking to the guys at the wreckers about it , that they said "adaptor plates s..t we have a heap of them go have a look and see what you can find" and I found one that matched my nice weber :)

SALES TAX!? What age is that dude in? In just two weeks short of ten effin years Get Stuffed Taxpayer GST took effect. $42.00 plus 10 % GST still don't quite make $58 either.
Back when it was wholesale sales tax the consumer never knew how much sales tax was in the price as say I bought Mars Bars at 50 cents each plus 30% sales tax would make my cost 65 cents each. Go and flog em off at an event for 2.50 each the tax man still only got his 15 cents whereas with GST he gets abigger cut the bigger the end user price is.

It is and always has been illegal to quote a price without stating whether it is inclusive or exclusive of GST. I ordered a $100 silly hose bend to go pick it up and being told $110 all up - I also politely told sales girl $100 or keep it .Since bought all my silly hoses off fleabay for quarter the price.

Quite simply I was never going back to that parts store but when I told wifey she went into shopping mode and demanded satisfaction...... women and shopping don't mess with the shopping experience
