well I wasn't far off I hope she enjoys it
meanwhile PJ has had a bit more work done if you remember and I prefer to forget I had the subaru accelerator jury rigged until I could come up with a better solution.

this photo shows the ford XF cable sitting nicely in place

and these ones show how I got it to work like the subaru one
and this one shows the ford bracket used to hold the cable in place
it is rather responsive and has made for a completely different sound when pushing the go pedal as the secondary now opens as it is meant to.
I just hope I don't have to replace the cable in a hurry as putting that brass plate into place was the last part and took nearly all of my patience, the rest just clipped into place.
and yes I did have to change the pedal end of the cable from a round ball to a rod which I achieved by slotting a section of fuel line (drilled and slotted with jewellery tools) over the ball and the filling the space around the ball with soft solder and a jewelers torch (and I didn't even burn my self this time)
