I drove to Nannup today to check out some parts a guy I know has on his property, while he didn't have the specific part I needed I came away with a power-steering set-up for my brumby for next to nothing. (it is going to be pulled off the car and delivered to me)

it was all rather strange as he and I have talked at length about putting a weber on his brumby to the point where he went out and bought an ADM 34 and a carby kit to suit.(we were going to re-jet it) while I was at his property looking over his copious parts from red motors to holden 4 cylinders and about 10 different subaru motors all ea, I noticed a carby sitting on the bench under a very thick layer of dust.

I picked it up expecting it to be a solid mass of Aluminium oxide, gave the linkage a twist and not only did the butterflys open completely but I could hear air hissing in the chambers. it was a genuine (before redline) Italian weber 32/36 and get this it is jetted to fit a subaru motor.

needless to say he was stoked but then told me it had been sitting on the bench for nearly 10 years. I nearly fell over as he had never bothered to look at as it was sitting on the bench (he thought it was stuffed) so now he is going to re-build it then put it on his brumby.

so while I didn't get the part I was looking for I did get a power-steering rack and he now has a damn fine little carby.

as well I travelled over 230 KM on about a third of a tank of petrol Im very happy about that

Is this power steering thing catching then ?:)

Presume you'll have a mixture to make yours work ? Pump, brackets and pulleys from an EJ (is it) original steering rack from a brumby.

Lets see who manages to get theirs on first ..hehehe!

Flare the EJ fluid lines that go into the rack and all well be sweet

colors are a possibility, but if they are not round and hollow they are not good for much

Hey Guy's - Back to the car thingy stuff ...........
(although I think it was me that got you all revved up with the revelations of Miss Blonde Perfume:mrgreen:)

Jules, Keep an eye out for this popping through your letter box (if it will fit that is :D).

I have screwed the cap on the Dizzy so as to save packing space.;) Oh - I've used clear strong tape all over the parcel - its a lot tighter and stronger than the picture can show.

Oh and look at what was happening outside the garage whilst we were packing your gear up ! Apparently there's alot more to fall here overnight :(
In Scotland 16 inch fell today ! & our part of the world is next :(

Thanks Giles I will probably get a little note in the letter box saying come to the customs office and explain this parcel of wires plastic and metal pieces please :) I love the whole fragile this way up bit as well that way the guys at Australia Post will know which way to hold the package when playing football with it

I think the guys were just trying to get me confused or angry or both which isn't hard to do but instead I went back to my days as a moderator on another board and put up my favourite spam signs

nice to see some one threw a bag of flour at your house :)
seems winter is going to hit with extreme vengeance in your hemisphere

as I understand it we are going for another day in the 30's according to Yahoo at least 31 in Australind and it isn't officially summer yet Im sure we will run up a few days of 45+ this year.

thanks again
