fatz,

not sure how far you have gotten with this but there are 'little' things that need to be done to make it fit.

ditch the OE engine mounts- use WRX. retain the rear engine support as that will locate the engine. get the appropriate trans x memeber and use early liberty mounts.
axles - see my thread on them. with the rear diff - drivers rear axle is short by 1" (sorting this now.)

rear diff - swap the flange to the earlier one. drive shaft is auto L series - bolts up. wiring - have fun. retain the shifter if you can or find a 4 spd L series one.

ring me if you get stuck :)

legacytt wrote:With the wirng the easiest option is to put the whole loom in and rewire the car as a Liberty as I did with your sedan. Otherwise get someone in the know to strip the harness down. I can put you onto someone in Launceston who could do it. With the TT it is very important to not miss the wiring that runs the whole TT sequential bit otherwise it will be a complete dog.

if you tag everything engine related then the strip is not that bad. retain the relay box in the engine bay and it gets a LOT easier and it solves a headlight wiring issue as well. your call there. the rest of it can come out. ECU harness will pull onto the steering column and mount to it if you use the original ECU back plate.

how much of the ABS system are you retaining?

My rear diff has been in place for 6 months,no probs to report.I used early L series turbo doj outer cup & shaft and wrx inner cups which fit str8 onto L shafts[the balls and cage are the same liberty and L]Had the suspension in full travel offroad and have not ripped the cup out the diff, unlike when i was runing the later L series cv outer. The liberty shifter fitted str8 in just had to drill 2 extra holes.

Ok Guys. Time for another update i spose.
Haven t done too much. Just a bit of tinkering over the last day or two.
I have managed to install the rear lift. Wasn't much of a hassle, bit of a effort fitting a diff by ya self and jacking a car up so high with no real support. Wsa a bit unstable a few times along the way, but managed to have a "setup" in case the car fell (again) would fall as far;) Safety first:)
This is the first time i have fitted a lift kit before, so was enjoyable to do, and i have also learn't some ways to speed things up in the future.
My plans this week was to have a setup so that the car is a little more stable than in its previous state, so i decided to install the rear setup and stick some tires on.
Here are some pics of the lift and some stock lib tyres. 25"??
Anyway too much talking and not enough pics.. or other way around? anywho. Enjoy

Ok fellas,
Just finished the lift.
Tis rather big;) put it all together to find out the gtb brakes i have are too large for my rims:( So i temporarily have put in the hubs with Lib brake setup.
No real dramas tonight. Big of strut tower bashin and filing. nothing unexpected though. I snapped up a couple of pics, nothing too interesting as my shed is now full of **** and i cant move:P Also its about 0 degrees out there and becoming unpleasant.
Anyhow, here are a couple of pics.
Dont know how high she sits, dont have a tape, but i can tell u with the nankangs on, i can have a jack stands at full ext and still about 4cm from the body.
Enjoy.

Image
The process of swapping hubs over. Turned out to be a waste of time!

Image
Some incentive to finish quickly.

Image
Need to get rid of this tab in order to place blocks on top.

All gone.
