I feel you pain while I'm waiting for images to load ;) Gotta love dial up.

So Bumpty, what are the plans/actions so far? Its a good looking lib to start with. How high will it go?

Cheers

Plans for this Lib,

3" lift
Standard king springs
Outback struts
Nudge bar
Two rectangle 100w spotties

A pretty basic list at the moment, all I want is for my four wheel drive to be like a four wheel drive car. The shocks and sagged height at the moment hate the farm haha.

Current improvements list

Interior
Kenwood Head Unit
2x Sony Explode 6"
2x Clarion 6"

Exterior
Forrester 16" Rims

... :)

Forrester rims are to be now fitted after some new struts or when the lift goes in, with a full car, or with atleast 3 people (depending on weight :)) in it, they have scrubbed pretty badly on the top of the guards, bending the folded in bit down, cracking paint etc :( I've taken off rear mudguards as they were rubbing too, no big bickie.
So back to the 15" with new wheels!
Anyone have any tips when rolling the guards up a little (not flaring), just to roll up the horrible sharp edge.

And car goes doof now, 350w Kenwood amp with (borrowed) 2 12" clarion 600w subs :D Love it

Update, the plans are new struts and standard springs all round in the next week or so, thanks to 'my sti'. Keep an eye on this space, I may put up some better before shots and if there is enough demand, maybe some after shots...

Are you sure they're 14" on 2nd Gen Liberty? Because they do come with 15" minimum (even steelies), none came in 14" only 1st Gen unless they've been downgraded to 14"?

Yelp, they're 14", don't know the brand of rim, just a simple 5 spoke alloy rim. They were on before he got to the car.

Well,
my shocks & springs arrived, and with a huge thanks to mattl200, we (I say we, but I really mean matt :)) got them installed!
We had no real dramas, considering I had no experience and matt hadn't done the shocks on a gen1 lib before.
Though, at one stage it looked like the back shocks were going to scrub quite badly, it had us worried, but there wasn't much to do, but press on, so once secured in and the car dropped, they compressed pushing past the bit they would of scrubbed on. And I now understand why ouback trailing arms are a good idea, as the rear wheels have now moved forward a fair bit.
Below are some before n after shots.

With shagged shocks, and shocking springs

..And with the OB struts & King springs (standard height)

Hi Bumpty i was reading your plans for the lib i have done the some thing accept i put a 2" lift in mine and love it.

I have plenty of clearance front and back i am just wondering why a 3" lift?
Image

Because you will have issues with brake lines too short and a lot harder to make the sump guard fit properly and wheel alignment problems as well. Sorry if this sounds a bit forward but i am very happy with mine and i would not put a 3" lift in mine:D 2" is ample.

looking good man, if the trailing arm bolt straight up, id suggest doing it to make to look sexier.
do you have plans for larger rubber
(prolli on previos page, haven't looked for a while)
Good job

Yarney - I didn't realise I'd have problems with brake lines on the 3", when we put the new shocks in we had a look at them and realised I probably would. Oh and my lib doesn't have the sump guard... And apparently they are factory fitted? Was going 3" over 2" as I didn't want to look back and be disappointed with the 2" and then wanting a 3". Your lib does have an extremely good lift with 2" tho, whats it got, the ob struts - std springs n 2" lift?

Fatz - I've got 16" forrie rims with the standard forrie rubber - geolanders on them, they have a little bit of life left in them, and they will be the larger rubber until they wear out. They shouldn't rub where they did with the shagged shocks, but probably will now rub on the front of the guard without the trailing arms... :)
Question, is it only the trailing arm I will need?

Thanks for your views too.
