New Project

Post by Outback bloke » Tue Oct 30, 2007 6:23 am

This is the car that is replacing the wagon I am selling. It is a 2004 2.5 Outback. The Lift Kit is going in this weekend coming.

Future mods include UHF, dual batteries, compressor and tank and super charging. Not sure what order but the super charger won't be going on until the warranty runs out.

Good stuff, weren't tempted by the 3.0R? I am contemplating a similar move when I step up from the Gen 2. Will be good to see one lifted. Is it a manual?

Every one's forgetting the main question here... WILL IT BE ORANGE???

Nice wheels though, can't wait to see the build in progress...

Is it an Auto or manual?

Don't quote me, but I believe a 2 inch lift. No to Orange. Supercharged when the warrenty runs out. Hand held Sat Nav/GPS as there will be no drilling in the dash. Semi Automagic. And I believe it will have different wheels so the lift doesn't look ****y.
We looked at H6s, and the ones we saw were very untidy. And Brett was happy to supercharge. It is emulacclate inside, still smells new. Very easy to speed in as it sooooo quiet. Needs some gruntty sound, but will wait till it has the power to go with it.

Yeah, 2" body lift to start with. It is all learning with this one as to how high things need to be. Inch lift springs will most likely be going in in the not to distant future.

It has 215x55/17's on it at the moment. I think I am going to go back to a 16 so I can get some wall height and a better tyre range. Still looking at options.

As Megan said, we were going to buy an H6. The thing that put me off them is although the interior is really smick it is also beige carpet and leather which would get too dirty too quickly.
needs a 3.0 H6....then supercharger
It was talked about quite seriously. Would have been an awesome combo I reckon. I figure with the 2.5 and about 5psi it should go from 121KW up to about 163kw. On paper any way. The benefit would be more so in the torque at lower RPM which is where I want it.

can help with that side of things. the storage panel (top) is a separate assy . when I put nav in those that entire thing comes out so a small screen in there (touch) is definitely possible. other option is to put the UHF up there.

It is so quiet that the other day Brett took off from home flat knacker and his brother and myself never heard it. So it does need some noise liberation
