This is my Brumby, its undergoing a much needed Full Rebuild. Theres much to do so ill let the pictures to most of the talking. Enjoy.
The last time in one peice (i have been working on it for a coupla years already though)
Start at the front,
gotta CUT the Xmember out!
Hook the crane up
Pull the motor out (thats my dog leash btw)
and thats what u get. ewww.
A short time later
After watching the paint Dry
looking spiffy!
Been shopping!!!
Lining the big fella up was fun!! But after a few Bevo's it all went in nicely.
I just noticed you are in Rockvegas I lived there for nearly 2 years and Im still trying to get over it do the still have the bulls with no testicles at either end of the town?
thats a big load of work by the way well done
I take it you are going to flood the engine bay with paint once its all cleaned up
be a shame not too
TOONGA
PJ Gone but not forgotten JETCAR AKA the sandwedge Rusted in pieces
with the firewall done, i started to get to know my chassis.
another peice NOT going back on.
both sides, Naturally.
I decided if im gunna do all this, i mite as well make it fit a wrx motor. incase i NEED one later
I use Bonnet Rio for the shape, and has a nice looking hole in it. Makes for a Factory look
I also weld a big washer inside the hole, for extra strength.
This part is expertly designed by subaru to catch maximum crud, and rust out ASAP. theyve spent some time perfecting it. well done chaps.
A little bit of root canal work.
With that all sorted i moved onto the shocking shocktowers.
I started by adding extra holes (sounds crazy i know)
bolts lo locate it,
a few welds to hold it
a few more welds,
yet to do around the inside.
coulpe round the outside
should help it stay.
T'su, you'll have to wait to find out, as I do. havent driven it more than one kilometer. and that was, well, scary. should have heard it (shudders....) Rust?? you aint seen nuthin yet!!!
Toonga, Rocky hasn't improved, i assure you. i only moved here (from yeppoon) to buy my house (coz yeppoons too dear) and yes mate, it will be painted. the whole car will be painted. Blue Silver and Black
I then made these pieces to add a bit more strength
underneath
slimply slide in here...
like this...
ready to weld
and it comes out like this
drivers side. (apollogys for the weird angle of the photo (was upside down at the time)
and thats why. Rotisserie!!! (thanks go out to the subie boyz for the info)
funny feeling getting in your car, and having the gearstick hit you in the head!!!
Blue an yellow safety rope, just in case.
You've been quiet lately Rohan, I wondered what had happened to you and Jeff's old ute. I didn't realise it was that bad, you've certainly got your work cut out getting it back up to scratch but it's looking good so far.
I reckon you should shout yourself a late model turbo front cut and Crossbred 5 stud conversion while your at it.
