Love the engine pitching rod...shiny blue
But I cant help loving everything carbon fibre...CF has this thing bout it. The way it glitters in the sunlight like black diamonds
DCCD controls look like factory fitment

Yeah mate, you've got a good eye to seek that one out! But I guess you look at that instrument cluster more than I doVenom wrote:I just saw that one at pick a part and thought it looked a lot better than mine, which it does. The red needles and extra ticks on the gauge just look more sporty than white needles.
Adds more sophistication to the interior look of your lib!
Cheers

Looks awesome...& I never even noticed your original was from an auto! I agree, the red needles look much better
Love the scan gauge too

Very true, you see the dash more than any other part except the windscreenVenom wrote:Its kinda funny how happy i am with it, but really it's probably the part of the car you look at the most apart from the windscreen!

The motor in my car has had a few issues. Timing chain is dying, valve stem seals are leaking resulting in about 1ltr of oil loss per 1,000km, rattling in the P/S head probably a cam bearing. Motor has been low on oil a few times now simply because I can't keep up with the oil loss.
I can't afford the time to have no motor in my car so looking at S/H.
Sourced a Jap EZ30D with 80,000km and 175psi on all cylinders. Cheaper than a local motor and a lot less KMs. Plan is to pull off the heads on it and replace as many gakset as I can. With that many KMs and fresh gaskets it should last me a while!
Ordered a full H6 gasket kit from the US. Obviously I won't use it all on the Jap motor, but I want to make sure I have any gaskets that I might need to replace. In the end it'll be cheaper than locally sourced individual gaksets as well.
Probably going to go with a new HD Exedy clutch kit while I am at it, and fit up a flywheel inspection plate to stop so much mud and shit getting into the clutch and pressure plate.
Also looking at having a custom radiator fabbed up. Probably just the factory Gen2 core with new aluminum end tanks. Currently my lower hose fouls on the radiator so I need that shit sorted out. Also hoping to have the whole radiator core moved forward a bit so I can fit a full twin thermo and shroud, like this: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/flx-420
That and an oil cooler should make sure the new motor stays nice and cool.
Also ordered some minor little goodies. Beatrush solid prop shaft mounts and alluminium half-moon plugs for the motor.
Should be fun.

That new motor would have the heads with 3 exhaust ports each wouldn't it? Avcs too?
Awesome car btw

Sticking with the earlier EZ30 with the single exhaust port. I'd need an aftermarket ECU to run the later model motor.
A little project I undertook today. The shiny airbox has always given me the shits because after trying about half-a-dozen filters including a $180 genuine ARC filter, none of them bloody seal properly! Plus the exposed filters cops water and mud when off-road or washing the car.
Started with this...
Then I removed the bellmouth from the ARC box and fitted it to the factory box. After some grinding of the bellmouth all the holes lined up perfectly which made life easy.
I cut down the original pipe work so I would have something to mount the flexi to.
Factory airbox modified for the ARC bellmouth and then some flexi intake hose to the stainless pipe. Easy

Glad to hear you found another engine Rhys and that airbox does look much neater

Sounds like a smart move on the H6 replacement engine. I'm considering the same for mine (EJ though ) but I have a stupid sentimental attachment to it
I like the air box - snorkel next? Can you get a factory pipe from the airbox to the throttle body, that IMO will really set off the factory look!
Keep up the good work mate!
Cheers
