Proud new owner of an RX - we have ignition!!!
Who would have thought id go back to an L Series?
I wasnt really looking for one, but the opportunity popped up and it has grown on me ever since.
It once had a 3" lift and a bullbar ect, but this (^above^)is how it was when i got it.
It has no engine or gearbox, but i have a RS RA EJ20G in the pipeline and a dual range AWD liberty 5 speed planned to go in it.
A 5 stud conversion is also a definite possibility.
Updates as they come

Yeah.. if you're considering the EJ20G conversion then I'd highly recommend the 5 stud coversion the old 4 stud brakes aren't really up to scratch for the power
BTW.. nice RX and how's the interior?

Body is pretty straight, bugger all rust for a car of its age, there is a dint in the drivers door, but its easily replaced.
The interior is also good, with just a tear in the vinyl on the drivers seat
RSR555, the 5 stud conversion is definitely gonna happen. My question us do i need the brakes from a turbo model, or will the brakes from a non turbo model do the trick?
I too am a fan of the Patrol scoop Alex, but my plans were for a RS (or maybe something custom) water to air intercooler, so it might just be for show.
Yes Brett, this is Neville's old car, its been at his dads house (about 10 minutes from where i live) for ages
I havent checked for a towbar, but i doubt it. Doesnt even have RX brakes or swaybar anymore, but i'll be able to use that bar and arms that you sent me Jono.
I'll give it a wash and take some proper pics with a proper camera on the weekend

I think disco was asking what he paid for it, plus somebody else has already put dibs on it.
I was going through my saved documents looking for a wiring diagram and found these
I have obviously saved some pictures from somewhere and its the car that i now own, how cool is that?

Nice RX! Its seeing what you fellas have done with sedans that prompted me to buy my '86 turbo sedan, modeled GL-10, possibly not RX due to no lsd?
Are those pole holders for surf fishing on the bull bar? Not a bad idea as im ordering a couple surf pole kits for my son and I thru cabellas.
cheers, Mark

It's amazing to see the progression with the car, from being built decades ago, Then lifted and used for offroad and now turned into a street car with a EJ20G. A car thats so adaptable
Current Projects: *Offroad Racing MY Touring Wagon.
* EA82T Jap spec L series Wagon.
Previous rides: *Supercharged EJ25 Rwd Brumby
* 2 x 91' L series Ej20, 3 inch lift, mud tyres.
01' Liberty B4.

In those pictures, it looks like it had 14" rally hart rims, is this correct?
I cant imagine there are many of them left.

You can use brakes from a non turbo EJ donor car, they are still better than any L series brakes. WRX ones are better tho naturally but you may be venturing into overkill territory there. I'd do it tho.
