Why does the writing highlight blue and underline, like a link, even though there is no link associated with the text.

I havent decided if I will lower it yet, maybe a little, but not much.

Id say it is the IACV because I have code 24, which relates to the idle solenoid device.

Ive decided on 2 x 10" fans because they will fit better. I have one genuine 10" Davies Craig and a former forum member said he will donate a cheapy 10" fan so it will be interesting to compare them.

That linky thing happens when you put any text below a video for some reason.

And since some update I've not been able to click that link and have it show me the video... It's frustrating!

Just an update of pics of what Ive done recently in no particular order

RX as it stands at the moment.
1985 RX turbo, genuine BROBE vin
1995 WRX engine and 1992 Liberty dual range gearbox with a VLSD to go in the rear.
Crossbred brake kit with WRX front and rear discs
RS Liberty Radiator on custom bottom radiator support

It runs and drives but still needs tidying up body wise for inspection
The idle problem ended up being a tight throttle cable
I still have to install 2 x 10" thermo fans
I have a vacuum articulator from the centre diff lock of a Vortex turbo Im gonna use to shift between Hi and Lo range

Image

Image

RS ecu mounted in L series mounts
Image

Joined top hose until I find a proper replacement. And by the way to those who doubted me, my repaired radiator doesn't leak!
Image

Engine bay, I will be going with a WAIC soon
Image

TD04L turbo and custom recirc BOV and intake pipe setup
Image

Stealthy boost gauge, I wouldnt mind throwing a later dash cluster that has volts and oil pressure

Crossbred handbrake from a Mitsu Magna
Image

Handbrake cables pass under rear seat instead of through tailshaft tunnel
Image

Handbrake cables coming out under rear seat
Image

070 Bosch fuel pump and pre-filter to stop gunk from in the tank causing issues
Image

Crossbred rear backing plate
Image

The exhaust at the moment is just a 95 STI dump, oh my it sounds good

Should go alright now! Be able to pull up in a hurry too,no more '82 dole drums and lack of wheel choice, bet it will suprise a few unsuspecting victims when the lights go green.

Looking good mate!

And I'm glad to hear about the radiator - truly I am! I hope it goes the distance for you.

I'll be keen to see how the pre-pump filter will go, I remember being told at some point that a pre pump filter can create more issues than it solves - there's a little mesh filter in the pump's inlet that will catch anything that will do damage to the pump, what gets past will be caught by the fuel filter in the engine bay before it gets to the engine...

So straight though exhaust it is then??

Cheers

The filter is really only temporary, I just wanted to see how much crap was coming out of the tank since it has sat dry for 4 years. The exhaust will be mostly factory EJ exhaust parts, I havent quite decided what I'll use yet.

I took it up the road for a quick drive tonight when nobody was around. Its crazy! It needs a front wheel alignment and some better tyres, these have gone kinda hard and have very little grip.

I'll get a video soon

Email that video clip so as not to reach youtube Currant Affair status :D

Wondering too, if that plastic filter will suck its chops in,maybe a metal filter of 1/2" ??

At the time, I couldnt get a 1/2 inch filter, but the restriction issue did cross my mind.

As for a video, I'll just state that it was taken on a private road, or I simply wont exceed the speed limit

not meaning to completely change the thread or anything, but would having a filter pre-pump actually cause any issues?

I kept the l series one (new filter, but old position) when i did the EJ on my L series, more based on what was there than any particular decision that i needed one. so i have filter, then fuel pump, then 2nd filter (ej filter) near the motor. any chance that could cause issues? i guess the best way to find out is to rip it out and try
(it doesn't feel slow at all, but being the only ej 22 L i have been in, i dont have much to compare it to)

Awesome project you have going on there Gannon  cant help but think "i want" :D
cant wait to see it on the road!

Here is a video we took tonight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIkeH3uZis0

As you can see we used a torch to watch the boost gauge because I haven't rigged up the light

Yeah I know it was a quick video, but I just wanted to see if my wheel alignment worked and couldnt help bringing on the boost.

Speaking of, it appears that it was pulling between 8 and 12psi, but factory boost pressure is 11psi. My boost line restrictor might be too small 0.9mm and not letting enough bleed air out.

But other things take priority. My PS tank is leaking somehow so that will have to be fixed as will the reverse lights and my radiator fans

Snagged myself an L series digital radio for $15
Image

Interestingly, it has a 13pin din socket in the rear the exact same as the Clarion in my Outback does that is used an an aux input and allows me to hook up an MP3 player and play through the speakers
Image

I just need some speakers for the doors now
