If your modifying the hub to fit wheels, your doing it wrong.
I think what you actually mean is, the largest without having to roll/pull guards etc?
Is the car lowered or anything?

Stock, you'll be able to easily fit 18 x 8 with a +45 offset or so.
You *could* fit an 18 x 10 with a +35 offset if you wanted to roll/pull guards etc.
But then it comes down to tyre choice and your suspension, you can fit a 235 tyre easily on the 8" wide wheels, or go the 10" wide and still fit a 235 tyre but get them stretched over the rim.

Wheels are personal - those ones you linked, I personally think are sh!thouse.

I agree with bobbyjimmy on the wheel choice... Those rims would be better suited to a larger car "in my opinion"...
I personally like the jap racer look, like a nice 5 spoke, bronze or gold, with dish...
I like when there is visible dish on the other edge of the rim, where the spokes curve in and dont meet the outer lip...

tempe tyres are shithouse. Ive heard the rims fall to bits and the tyres they give you are shit.

Get some nice shadowchrome spoked rims. Around the 18inch size.

You get what you pay for. What kind of retard would expect decent tyres when you only pay such a low price for the entire set of wheels with tyres included? It even says "Budget tyres" in the description. You are free to put expensive tyres on if you choose.
We've been running a nice set of 17s from Tempe on the missus' Celica for about 4 years now. The wheels have not shown the slightest sign of breakage (even with her smashed some curbs pretty badly on more than one occasion). The tyres are perfectly fine, but naturally they aren't expensive ones.
They are not shithouse at all when you take value into the equation, which is their whole philosophy.

Naturally this is just my opinion, but I think it does hold some water based on the actual real world experience I've had with the brand in question.

theyre wheels tho. pretty important part of the car. Just my opinion but i wouldnt touch em with a 10ft pole. The multiple stories ive heard of them breaking is enough for me to go off them.

What do you expect when they don't use tires any more they just put over sized rubber bands on them, As a result of all these low profile tyres and stiffer suspension the are starting to find that the strut towers themselves are starting to crack!

Well naturally people are free base their opinions on "stories" rather than actual experience. Probably alot of those stories originate from local wheel/tyre places pissed off with the amount of sales they loose from the cheap imports.
Remember that Tempe Tyres is a business that sell a multitude of different brands of wheels from different manufacturers, they aren't "Tempe brand" wheels so it's not really rational to just boycott the entire place, especially if you are looking to pay a cheap price in the first place.
Naturally if you want the best wheels, pay $9000 each for them. If you want cheap ones, do like almost everybody in Australia and shop at Tempe!

Utter crap heavy cheap nasty garbage, if you want your car to go slower, use more fuel, bounce your kidneys around your guts, ruin suspension components and possibly snap axles I'd say go for it, a stock set of WRX 17's with tyres weigh about 16.5kg per corner, these will be about 23kg each adding about 25kg's of unsprung extra weight.
Don't waste your money on shit.

lol nice accurate information there. The guy on the phone at Tempe says these particular wheels are around 11kg each.
d_generate are you referring to just the particular wheel referred to at the start of the thread? or all wheels sold by Tempe?

17" WRX wheel weighs just under 8kg
20" Junk weighs 11kg +
I'm pretty sure a 20" tyre will be a couple of kg more than a 17"............question answered?
I'm talking about the VAST majority of the cheap Chinese rims & tyres sold by them.
I've got a set of 17" Gram Lights on mine. they weigh about 17kg with tyre, my son has almost identical copy's on his 2 door STI, they weighed in at a hefty 21kg all up

Thanks alot guys ... i need some pics of what you guys think would look alright ... like its all down to what i like personally but the help is great ... i havent got it lowered at all .. Yea i was going tempe because i'm a bit low on monz at the moment but hopefully this will change . The one thing that i'd like is to be different from others and not have my car look the same as the other hundreds who buy the same sort of rim ... thanks :D

You also have to remember that your brakes are going to look pathetic behind 20" rims, stick to a nice set of 18's with a +48 offset and don't go too wide or you'll have trouble with scrubbing, here's a tyre chart so you can get something that will not affect your speedo too much & save you buying a new spare, get a flat & stick the wrong size spare on & you'll screw your box.

Try this guys wheels, good quality, not too heavy, great customer service & has some nice carbon fibre look 18's.
