Just a suggestion, if you have not done so already...
Have a look here at the resto's that Rick and his crew have undertaken - you will learn a lot from these gents.

Bogging that rust? You'd be much safer in a Chinese Geely...
Please don't drive it on the road like that. Just because you can sneak it through rego, doesn't mean it's going to make it through even a minor accident (or even a large pothole for that matter).
Pop the windscreen out, chip out the bog, and strip the bottom corners properly, then get a mate that can weld to come over and weld some steel back into those massive voids. Even dodgy welding and rough patches (bogged over) are better than just hiding the fact that it's not a whole car anymore...

Yeah mate, you'll probably live (road accidents have been known to kill people), but it's going to hurt more when the car comes apart in a crash. And it might be an idea to remove the passenger seat and have a Mod Plate fitted to reclass it as a single seater. I say something as rediculous as that, because if you have a passenger, and they are not aware that the car is not as strong as it "appears" to be (especially if it's a child passenger), and some idiot runs a stop sign and ploughs into you... Well, you are liable for the extent of their injuries (or possibly death) both legally and morally.urabus-subaru wrote:all good it was free. and to old mate its all good with the bog ill live but thanks mate the rest of the windo is good
I'm not trying to put you down or suggest anything negative about your intelligence or ethics at this point, just imparting some hard earned knowledge and voicing well founded concernes...

mmm
look guys thanks for your input but just chill out ppl. its my bad. just boging for rego . then waiting for a mate to come back from a trip so he can weld it.... OK all simmer lol
you do understand that bog will be noticed??
if you have to put it over the pit they will notice and then they can write the car off then and their. its better to wait, fix it and then have a car when your mate gets back, if not you might not be left with a car

just to throw this in, was down the swap meet the other week and saw a monaro.
had a close look and could see the waves and hairline cracks in the bog, the guy got annoyed when i slammed the door and a sheet roughly the size of a a4 peice of paper fell out.
i am not an expert in bog or bog detection, but if i could see the RTA will be able too
