For a little extra$$ Dave should wire the fans on relays for you..., So fans have plenty of power and don't let the engine get hot:)
Just my 2cent worth..

Ok so a nice early start today,
Dave arrived and worked his magic with the wiring loom,
all went well besides for afew little things like one fan wasn't working properly so I got it swapped for another one.
But the main thing is that it's running :) Started first go, so happy
now just putting all the fenders on and tiding up so wiring,
Only Thing left to do now is sort the engine mounts out, they are original mounts so the bolt with the wedge is to short for the nut the hold nicely on so I'm thinking i'm going to get after market mounts cause everyone is saying that they have a longer bolt, Please can someone confirm this?? and if so where to I get them from, I know it's a dealer thing But which one? has anyone got them recently??

Other than that she purrs like a kitten, love it
Thanks to Everyone who has helped along the way and give moral support, Really appreciate it,

Heres the final pic of the engine bay with everything done,

I can confirm this is correct and they can be purchased from places like Coventrys, Veales, Repco or any parts place. Last set I brought were around the $60 (each) mark. The stud part sticking out is the same length, the only difference is the thread on the aftermarket ones goes all the way to the end, unlike the factory ones.

btw Dann.. looks good mate. Can't wait to see it on the beach at Two Rocks :)

I'll have the number on my invoice if you can wait or just tell Veales to make sure they are the square type. I'm sure they can return them to their warehouse if they aren't the right ones.

I remember that itch! But after a month of the conversion, a complete rewire, factory central locking and power windows + work I was pretty buggered, but still had a smile on my dial once it was going - at least until I found a leak in the water pump, there was shaft play that I didn't find when I had it out :(

Just make sure you finish everything off, otherwise you'll be driving around without your subi complete! Trust me, I know all about that!

Cheers

Hate to say it.. Even when you have you it 'finished'. It wont be finished, mines been on the road for at least a month and things just keep popping up. But i did more than just the engine. The crossbred kit is awesome but cos i touched stuff and things arent quite aligned/settled properly yet it still feels a little uneasy on its feet..

But its sooo worth it :D Can't wait to see you guys out there soon!

Hey guys I thought I might just randomly POP back in after Internets been down for so long,
update on the ol' L shes now got new king springs in the front, new stereo head unit, rear LED reverse light as some of you have seen already, she's driving amazing lately loving the EJ22, sort of wishing I had put a turbo in but oh well does great, leaves other people with surprised looks on their faces haha,

Anyway needing help again after putting the engine in the alignment ripped though a set of front tires, so i realigned them got new tires and wheel bearing, ran great for a week then my new king springs arrive so I popped them in and now my camber is waaay out, will post up a few pics tomoz, but I'm wondering if its possible to put the suspension back in wrong to cause this or do I just need to get the wheels done again (camber?).
Cause I compared the springs to each other and they not much bigger ( they standard L series king springs) probs only about a 10mm or so.

And secondly seen as i've finally got around to doing my engine conversion, I wanna get a full set of tires all matching, I wanna get some all terrains, any suggestions? help? I'm running 14's atm, I know that brings the selection right down but if you guys could help out. I'm looking at doing quiet abit of sand driving, but also I've been getting into abit more muddy/ dirt, hence wanting the all terrains or muddies

Thanks guys will post up some updated pics tomoz :)
Bye for now
Cheers,
Dann

for tyres i went into beaurepairs today just to check prices and kuhmo, toyo and maxxis all do muddies but only maxxis do all terians and they were $215 each fitted

and with the camber i would say if you have fitted std new springs and its changed that much i would have a guess that they are in backwards
