I own a vortex :)
I own a vortex
just a few shots
spider manifold
out the front of RSR's after a bit of work (thanks )
what can I say
the spoiler Guy wants
Wifeys first words "it's a two door when can I take it for a drive?"
so many options on the drawing board
RSR " a two inch lift kit, 14 inch rims and an EJ25"
me "well I do have an EJ22 motor and there is a computer for it somewhere in the work shop..."
my wifey "it has to have a turbo what ever engine you put in it"
Do the happy dance

Wicked cool
Hey Jules
Enjoy it mate. Im glad you got home safely.
Thanks go out to RSR for his time and help this arvo.
The different rear shocky holes are probably because one is for the airbag and the other for the coil spring setup.
Wait for the kids faces when you take them to school in Turbo the first time. Its a classic to see.
Cheers Pete

Thanks everyone I would love to say my tex is immaculate but thats not the case. she is a little rough around the edges but at 24 years of age Ive seen cars from other companies in way worse shape. (mostly in wrecking yards)
Im very happy that I found a 4wd 5 speed manual as it means less work in the conversion side of things
Still not sure what to do but as this car already has a computer, what ever ends up in it will be run by a computer.

a 24 year old computer - you trust it?
Me thinks you got a bargain. Now, from what I have learned, if I bought yours and it is running, driveable etc I'd be giving it all the servicing things, brake fluid flush etc, which I reckon likely been done by now. I would also add some Lucas power steering leak fix if only to condition the seals so they don't spring a leak on you, add some oil seal conditioner to the engine oil and say a little harmless Silverseal magic to the cooling system to lay in wait for it to spring a leak.

I know of an awesome supercharger already made for an EJ that would suit the Tex just nicelyTOONGA wrote: my wifey "it has to have a turbo what ever engine you put in it"

Good points there Jonno but I doubt that motor will be in it too much longer.steptoe wrote:a 24 year old computer - you trust it?

it will be in there until the parts have been hobbled together to make the swap (Im hoping sooner than later)RSR 555 wrote: Good points there Jonno but I doubt that motor will be in it too much longer.
On a vortex note it was 6 degrees down here at 7.30 am when I started it up it idled and after a minute it actually drove and idled I think the drive home may have cleared a few cobwebs and dust mites

Talk to Tristan (aka 90Brumby) I'm sure he was talking about removing it so he can fit a dual battery setup.TOONGA wrote:Do tell please

No probs and good to hear you got the cobwebs out. I feel #2 & #4 would have been pretty gummed up due to those plugs.TOONGA wrote:it will be in there until the parts have been hobbled together to make the swap (Im hoping sooner than later)

it's now 11am and he's just getting up.. and we are talking softly for him
He said the S/C will be for sale (Shae said the hatch comes with it but I don't think Tristan will allow that), he said he might sell the whole EJ22 setup complete as he's thinking of putting the other EJ22T engine that I have.
