My Brumby

Post by Brumby91 » Sun Sep 11, 2011 6:02 pm

Hi guys this is my brumby ute , and i was wondering if you can tell me what you think its worth, or give me some ideas.

The Good

Its a good runner, with Electronic Dash, and just recently i have replaced the standard exhaust with a custom 2.5 inch job. Brand New Wheels and Brand New tyres. New plugs , leads ( 8mm Jobs) new dizzy cap/rotor. Air filter. Interior is in good nick ( no rips or tares) and the body work isnt too bad either. Good tonnea cover and standard untouched am/fm radio. Custom Number Plates. Spot lights and Bull bar

The Bad

Slight oil leaks in some areas, and the gearstick is sloppy, but im having that repaired this week. Carby is running rich , and may need looking at ( but this doesnt seem to effect it too much , it'll start whilst turning the key outside of the car , without pumping for gas.

Thinking about getting a V8 ute for work purposes.

That looks sweet - should get top dollar for that - at least $3500 and I wouldn't be surprised if you got $5k for it .

Yeah I noticed the aircon.

I looked at one here in country WA where the prices are probably lower than over east. They had $3600 on it and it had big dents in the tailgate and LHF guard, rust in the windscreen surround, roof and guard, dicky clutch and noisy motor and a few other things wrong with it. I explained that to the owner andsaid I would give him $2500 and he told me to shove off and wouldn't even negotiate any further. It sold a few days later so I assume he got what he wanted or pretty close to it. It was less than half the car yours is but it too had aircond so maybe thats why he got so much ???

wow ok, well all i can say is the air cond works great, and a local Subaru expert here , looked at the power steer conversion and was pretty impressed, he even went so far as to say that "Who ever did it , definately did their homework, and fitted it correctly, and didnt cut corners"

That being said , like i mentioned in the first post , im getting the shifter bushes replaced and fixed this week, once that is done , she's going on the market.

appreciate the feedback niterida, thanks heaps!;)

Well if this had been 3 weeks ago when I had $3k I wouldn't have been so helpful and would have said it was only worth $2.5k and bought it myself

But I've since spent all my money :(

Very nice ute you have there Brumby91

To quote a famous movie line about the fake chimney.. "hard to say"

but this would depend on how urgently you need to sell it and what you really want for it. Always good to look at the going rate on the market, as a buyer would be also checking these things out before buying.

Looks like someone had a Touring wagon and swapped all the good parts over.. very well done and I can't see it being too long before the right buyer snaps it up.

All the best.
