36 and drop to 10 on load when driving is exackery how my made in 1985 fuel pump behaved, needed a hammer tap and electric prime to get it started. I replaced the out of tank pump with a generic from Nardek and yee ha !!

doesn't flow from the tank with pump removed - lucky bugger , it always p1sses out or dribbles (usually starts at wrist and ends up in my armpit).
If the Vort is much same as any old Sube, a coupla bolts to drop the diff and let it hang to get the tank out and inspect it first before think new tank - surely!

Years ago a Brit sports car was low on fuel, went up a curved bridge and choked, never to start again - until we found this painters rag choking the poor pick up. Car had a respray some YEARS before and been happy hiding, floating about the tank until it had no choice but to smother the pick up. Try this and prove to your missus you are not just a good lookin' dude :)

From memory there are those wire hose clamps on the breather lines etc that are so old and tiny the bugger up on removal, so plan ahead and get some newies suitable for about 8mm. I got mine from a tractor replacement crowd and were a little more like efi clamps with smooth stainless band, no ratchety grooves

From a working subi without any issues or one a new pump?

What sort of voltage is it getting - could be a dodgy relay that's good while there's no real load on the pump... maybe.

Have you blown compressed air from the fuel pump back into the tank with the cap removed? If there's any crud in there it'll be shot into the tank then you should know you have to remove the tank to clean it.

Possibly, if the above doesn't work.

I say don't give up on it just yet!

Great. Can you hold out from your wife's abuse?!

I think it'd be one of those sales that you'd regret if you got rid of it under these circumstances!

My 5c for you anyway.

Cheers
