Hatchie Mayb up for a mid life overhaul

Post by 90brumby » Tue Jul 31, 2012 12:10 am

So since the ej22 is dead in hatchie (massive blow by and death rattle). I've been thinking once I finish my current project I'll give the hatch a birthday and bring it into this generation

So my thoughts so far
Possible h6 maybe even supercharged. Space depending
Crossbreed kit
Liberty dual range with lower low range
And liberty or outback interior including air con

At the same time respray and rust removal before it takes over anymore than it already has

Any other ideas or thoughts suggestions

A canon exhaust :) but seriously a set of scorpion rims would look great.

As for the H6 motor where will the radiator go?

everything else sounds great

Radiator in-place of the rear window with fans pushing out from the cab?

the H6 is an awesome engine though :) my bro has a Gen 3 liberty 6spd with one... sounds fantastic too :)

There is a EG33 (SVX) engine fitted in a Gen2 Brumby so I would say the EZ30 would fit for sure, as it's physically smaller overall. You can come over with your tape measure when I get home.

Well today I brought a 2001 h6 outback. Think it has 166 ks on itI front rh damage. Minor tho but enough to set the air bags off
might fix it and then use it as a driver until I'm ready to strip it down all depends on how difficult the licencing department want to be

Will post up pics 2morrow wen I pick it up

I can see the future... the licensing department won't let you license it :)

Gut it and turn Hatchie into more of a monster. :)

Before doing any work on the Outback, first check with the DOT to make sure it's not a Stat Right-off

after seeing the hatch parked in front of the shed not going (and talking with rsr) ive sourced a cheap ej22 but unknown condition
i pulled the engine out tonite and hopefully all going well ill have the new ej22 in tomorrow

and then i will slowly start doing a bit of rust repair while being able to get a subi off road again

That's good to hear, are you going to keep the supercharger on it?

Still have plans for a H6? or is the outback being resurrected?
