As for the fuel pump, have a look on fleabay for a new one if you find that it is the pump
Already had some experience with windscreen rust unfortunately, so it shouldn't be too big of an issue.

We also isolated the under bonnet fuel filter/return just to make sure that wasn't the problem either so it looks like we won't need one of those after all :)

Tom.

Update since my sister is slack as.

Figured the surging issue out, circuit for the fuel pump was dodgy. Fixed that, ran like a dream for a week, started again...

Checked things out again and the pump setup and filters were all fine. Discovered vacuum advance no longer works, and the previous owner had the timing advanced to ~17 degrees to "remedy" this >.<

So when we do the valve adjustment soon we'll be adjusting timing as well it would seem.

Cheers,
Tom.

All fixed thanks to T.Farm.Brumby and a mate who knows what he's doing. A new exhaust should do the trick to help some of the gutlessness/hesitance on acceleration though (or do I really just want a new exhaust? ;))

The windscreen wasn't too rusty when we took it out - we just need to bog up some of patches and paint it now. Turns out whoever owned it before me did a gypsy job of sealing the windscreen in, and the rubber had perished completely as well.

Have started painting the bullbar and should be ready to bolt back on soon. Canopy has been put back on and some general tidying up has been done. Photos to come.

Cheers :)

Update for slack sister again.

Bullbar is on, aerial is on, spotties are on and wiring is done, just need to attach it and splice in the high beam signal and put a switch in the dash, windscreen is ready to be painted, hood is ready to be painted, canopy is on and tailgate chrome is on *so fkn shiny*, oh, also this will be mine very soon! :D

BUT, my sister gets our forester :(
