My SH Forester Oil Burner

Post by robbks » Mon Jul 20, 2015 4:38 pm

So after a long journey through a whole bunch of Subaru's I'm back in a Forester, and one that's designed for the dirt this time>

Previous Rides
MY97 Forester Limited (Gutless 2.0)
MY99 Forester GT
MY94 JDM Legacy GT
MY06 Liberty 3.0R-B

And Now this beast.
MY10 SH 2.0D Premium

Here she is when she rolled off the truck after 2000km from the Gold Coast to Hobart

Image

Had it passed for Rego and took cruise up the back roads of Tassies East Coast

Image

then started the mods
MY11 WRX Mufflers
Rally Armour Mud-flaps

Image

Quick check of the increase in ground clearance over the outgoing Liberty

Image

Discovery of why it kept blowing the fuse out of the Glow Plug Circuit
And also picked up on a r00ted centre diff

Image

Then 3 months of stuffing around with the local Subaru Dealership talking with the Dealership who sold it to me and Subaru Australia to sort out the warranty on the plugs, diff and toasted clutch

FInal result was my preferred mechanic and local Parts Slingers
(Yes they're getting a free plug for any Tassie guys, Hobart Ultimate Subaru Spares), stepped up, provided an unbeatable quote to do all the required work with genuine Subaru Parts and warranty too, and got her back in tip top condition.
Also took the opportunity to swap out the horrid DMF Clutch for a Solid Flywheel.

Fast forward through all that and doing mods aswell
-Sourced some Genuine 16x7 +48 Sspeedlines from Japan
-BFG AT-KO in 215/70
-Factory Flare Kit
-SubaXtreme Alloy Sump Guard
-ECB Nudge Bar (requires mods to fit around bash plate...)
-Roof Racks

Image

ONly real mods planned now are a 1" strut top lift and some new KYB's/ Pedders Std height HD Springs/ Struts
