MP the brumby

So I got a new brumby :) YAY and it is finally on the road.

Plans I don't know yet as I'm cashless.

I've had to replace the gearbox, which was documented in my PJ thread on the last page. I took her for a drive today and I'm pleasantly surprised.

I found some very soft sand in the new housing area and drove into it on fully aired tyres. No problems even when I turned and pointed MP into a cayonero rut.

I do know where there is an EA 5 speed with a vacuum canister on the side but not sure if the owner will part with it. (not in Rockingham either)

Anything else I do to this brumby will be in this thread.

Nice one Jules, looks like nothing can keep you out of a Brumby :) Has this one got any mods on it yet? 14" wheels I see, are those lift blocks on the front strut tops too? Car doesn't look like it's been lifted though


So is this going to be the next "update on my brumby" thread? 60+ pages of "spam" :rolleyes:

GO JULES!! It is an interesting drive first up , these old girls. Mine sat eight years without even a start, another two only just being driven 150 metres, and now maybe not even a tank of juice and have a split CV boot, oil leak at the front so oil pump kit on order and new seal and oil press switch to be added.

Also blew an exhaust flange gasket due to stud striping out :(

actually, it stripped out :)

Still to do a 0 to 100 time.

Waiting on one from MJ

Yeah AC is there when I press the button nothing happens. it was gassed in 2011 according to the sticker under the bonnet. but I believe the problem is electrical.

Probably "Just ask Bennie and RSR :) " It has a 2 inch kit same as PJ but all the suspension is standard and the tyres are 195/70/14s not 215/65/14s so she doesn't sit quite as high.

Thanks Bennie it's all in fun ok :) I'm so glad I had the chance to buy this car and that I took it. It isn't as fast as PJ but MP drives really well and hasn't got as many issues as PJ had in the end.

I would say about 20 seconds in normal driving mode to get to 100 and if I hold it flat in every gear I might shave 5 seconds off that :)

I did the 0-100 test normal driving 25 seconds and flat stick 20 seconds.

I have a rebuild kit and adaptor plate. No airbox though. Anyway, decide you wanna go that route its all yours.

PJ was two Malay words, Papan = board Jamban = latrine when translated grammatically to English = latrine board. My wife called her that after I described what the original EA motor was doing.

MP two Malay words this time of my conjuring, mampus pantat Which is grammatically wrong in Malay but in English means dead ass which she was when I got her.

I may take you up on that weber offer Doug but I'm not sure yet as I still have both those single throat 34 webers you gave me.

For now she will stay as she is. At least until my finances are sorted.
