New paint job

Post by Outback bloke » Sat Feb 24, 2007 12:42 pm

This what the car used to look like.

and what it looks like now. Colour is called "Mandarin". It has a stack of pearl in it and the amount it changes colour with different light is awesome.

I am thinking about doing the "Outback" colour scheme on it. Just not sure yet. I am thinking of a bright/clean silver some what like the wheels.

More pics soon.

It all started when I decided to fix the rust scale around the windscreen and I like colour on cars and was sick of the every day white. It nearly ended up blue but I have liked this colour for a while. I have seen it on a few GT Falcons and liked it since. Also, I was sick of the black bonnet.

BTW, notice the blinkers aren't on? Don't you hate it when you prepare every thing for paint and then forget to paint bits? I have to finish in around the door jambs, so I reckon I will just paint them then.

One thing I hate about the whole painting game is cleaning up afterwards. Been at it all day today and it is still no where near finished.

I was saying the same thing to him yesterday. No more going out to a mates place and running a muck on the hills. I will have to ring the Rangers on Fraser and ask them to widen the tracks before he heads up there for the fishing comp.

Looking good Brett, wouldn't have been my first choice of colour but it's your car not mine, looks like a tidy job, I definitely think it needs the outback colour scheme to break it up a bit, here's one we prepared earlier:

I personally think it'd look better with an actual front bar, not a roo-killer as shown. but who am I to pick? LOVE the colour.

It needs a car fridge full of grog, and half a dozen naked women sprawled over the bonnet.
