Looks good for something to start with

Is that sporting a "third eye" light in the grille? Thats one heck of a bullbar on the front too.

yup thats the center spot that comes on when the hi-beams are turned on. I was planning on mounting a small winch and some off-road lights on the bar. I was also thinking about a lift, rims, tires, maybe a new carb and an electric supercharger. But for starters just new head gaskets and some clean up.

The hitch is secured to the frame through a small rectangular hole in the bumper(kinda hard to see)

they are just the stock 8-spoke rims that came with it I guess, the left rear has a small crack in it, nothing to worry about as bigger rims are in it's near future

Hi there and welcome to the message board.
You have a great start to the world of Subaru offroading and into the greater world of 4 wheel driving. As advice only, for the project you have at hand i would recomend you start by getting it mobile and registered then if you havent got a dual renge gearbox in it instal a later model 5 speed, go for the lift kit and 14in wheels. Once at this stage you can think of upping the power delivery characteristics by modding the carb to mechanical secondarys or fitting a webber and also adding a free flowing 2in exhaust system.
Further power upgrades you should seriously consider the EJ options
As regards the electric supercharger, do yourself a favour and just go the turbo EA or fit a later model EJ engine, not only will it save you money but it will yield greater power straight away.

thanks for the warm welcome and all the great advice. I'm going to start working on it tomorrow(head gaskets, carb cleaning, replace hoses/belts, and solder/replace a few wires) shouldnt be more than a half days good work.
