I am aiming to have it registered and on the road by next christmas. Any earlier and it will be a bonus. As far as the dash goes it has been a huge task to fit. All the climate control gear was fitted modifying the firewall to fit. Then I had to make up some of the ducting to suit. I started this 12 months ago and this is where it is up too. That was most weekends and the odd ocassion during the day while I was working shift work.

The next part to tackle is the body. There are some rust areas but on a whole the body is in great condition. Still have some more work on the front spoiler around the front cornewrs of the guards.

Just started the body work. Body is primed. All other panels have 3 coats of the top coat. Should have the body all painted in 3 weeks. Then the assembly and build starts ernist.

I might have a slight hold up with the back window rubber. It appears that subaru don't make them anymore. Still trying a couple of options.

Thanks for that bill. He wasn't able to help. Must have given me his suppliers name who also could not help with the part. I have heard that a gemini coupe window rubber is similar shape. Might have to pay a visit to a wrecker to see.

Geez sounds like you're having lots of fun trying to find a new seal mate. Glad I read this before I pulled mine out for painting, as I might not have been very gentle with it (intending to replace with new). Now i'll be handling it with great care, as I will have to re-use it :(. Cheers Craig

Just started to assemble the car readying to put the final 2 coats of paint on. The car should be painted by the weekend. Then the assembly really begins. The picture doesn't do the paint job justice.

Still a long way to go.

Here is one of the latest pictures of the car. Well taken 4 weeks ago. I am in the process of putting some on photobucket. Will post some more in the coming days.

The car is nearly complete. Interior is almost back together apart from1 dash panel front door trims and rear seat. Waiting for a momentary IC water spray switch for the dash.
Front of the car just needs a few lights wired up and the front bumper to be fitted. Cold air intake flex hose fitment. Front windscreen is to be fitted on Wednesday.
The rear requires the bumper, shorter travel shocks and tow bar to be fitted.
The underneath requires bolts for tailshaft, exhaust and double check all the bolts are done up.
Engineer and registration then I can start to enjoy the beast.
The last of the mods when the cash flow allows; window tint, 17 inch lenso mags and tyres, re trim of the front and rear seats($1500 quote not cheap), SAAS wheel.

I think I just wet myself.

Its looking awesome! I can't wait til its finished. And I LOVE that dash setup, as others have said, it looks like it was meant to be there! Good work.

You did the spraying yourself? That's something I'd like to get into and have a go at, probabily on a brumby I reckon  *dreams*

Will engineering it be difficult or have you had a guy follow you along the way giving you some guidance as to what should be done?

Cheers

Here are some pictures of the interior. I have incorporated a set of retractable rear seat belts.

I did the spray painting in my garage. Engineering should be easy. Been talking to the engineer during the build. Had a couple of cars engineered by him.

At the moment the door trims and dash recover, someone else completed. The rest I have done in the garage by myself. Self taught car builder, electrician, painter and fibreglasser.

man that is AWESOME .. you should be very proud of you workmanship. I reckon there would be very few businesses who would even be game to give something like this ago, yet alone in their garage.

Congrats..
