G'day everyone
I picked this beauty up for $1750! First car.
I was hoping you guys could tell me a bit about this car, its specs, common problems ect..
There is also a check engine light up on the dash, the dealer insisted that this was because its been overfilled with oil.
It hasn't had any running problems yet.. infact it runs well and growls like a beast. There is a slight ticking sound for the engine when its idleing though.
Looks like its had a scrap on the front but it doesn't bother me.
Interior is perfect except for the steering wheel which is a bit crappy, but ill just get a cover for it.
Comments please!
Cheers
Doug

The dealer is a dumb arse. Get a Subaru Workshop to to connect their select monitor and dianose the problem. Then go back to the dealer and claim their warranty. You did get a warranty right?

No warranty because its to cheap and too old, any ideas what might be causing the light to come on?

The check light wouldn't come on just from over filling it with oil.
Like Ben said get a Subaru workshop to connect their select monitor and dianose the problem.

Perhaps i'm the dumb arse for buying it.. lol
Ill get it checked out soon!
Theres no warranty on it, its a great car though, so id prefer to get it fixed rather than just returning the whole thing.
It's awd

ahh thanks mate! I was wondering what this manual was that everyone was talking about :P
Speaking of manual, What does the manual switch next to the handbrake do?

If you have any serious problems with it, you could actually take the dealer to court, if he said that it is only caused by overfilling with oil. It would thus be an implied term of the contract :P
BUt thats pretty over the top. If you can get it sorted easily, you got yourself a deal.
