OK. I found time and motivation to post up a little photo reduced to 7.5 KB to appear next to me name -steptoe

I went to user CP and chose the bottom option "edit profile picture" and got to the stage of the photo found on my computer appeared in the window -
"this is your current profile" so the first "save changes" worked to this point of seeing my photo extracted via "browse", appear in the box.

I try to 'save changes' with no address in the window below in custom and even tried copy and paste it back in for the next attempt to 'save changes'

also tried ticking the box next to the photo but that clears the photo off the screen

Also get to same step and fail as a change to an avatar too, h r m p h!!

and still get "upload of file failed"

can anyone see what I am doing wrong??

hey, the above appears different to what I typed AND appears in edit !!

I clicked on the link above and Isaacs mugshot appears, so it is on image hack but i canna up-blody-load it !!!

also tried as it appeared onscreen at imageshack

Looks to be impossible to upload from anyones computer at all. If it is I wish someone would say so

To put it simply.
You had the wrong source code.
The highlighted link you have up there is only linked to that page, not the picture itself.
The second link you have there is formatted incorrectly.

Looks like you tried to cut the link in half?
But really the link you should have used would be this one
http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/1156 ... 291vk7.jpg
Which is a direct link to the image.
Hope that clears things up for you a little. More than likely confused you a lot more though;)
