To follow on from Matatak's recent thread (i was gonna post in it but its closed now);
I've made this suggestion once before, don't know if maybe it might be considered again as I think it was a couple of years back when I first did.
Why don't we try out the system they use on Perth-wrx.org (and no doubt a few other forums) for the forsale section. I beleive they had a similar problem with endless b/s in their forsale threads.
Basically the seller starts a new thread in the normal way and puts their forsale advert in. Naturally this would have to conform to the template and be approved by a moderator before becomming visible. The only difference is that only the seller can post in this thread (to add further details, post up how much interest there has been so far, or simply to bump it up).
Prospective buyers simply PM the seller to ask questions or arrange the purchase.
I beleive this is a relatively simple thing to implement as a feature of the forum system and should solve the problem instantly.
Thoughts?

I kind of agree - often people are just posting questions for the sake of questions and they have no intention of purchasing or making an offer on the item.
BUT I also get annoyed by people who PM me questions about stuff I have available for sale, I then take the time to answer their questions, suggest a price etc.. and then they don't have the courtesy to reply (even to say they're no longer interested).
This probably won't help me get rid of a garage full of MY suspension/wheels and Brumby -- oh well, might have to keep it, or dump it!
