It seems like they want to prohibit Gold subscription from members who didn't sign up for it, initially.EAS51 wrote:I can't remember how i found it but anywhom..

I asked a moderator back in August 2011 about upgrading my membership and got no reply.

You being from Queensland makes me feel better.
At least I'm not being excluded for "not being Australian."
I hope for you,
they haven't taken your money without upgrading your membership,
however long that might take.

Seems rather pathetic to be honest. At first you want to read whats going on in the forum before you go subscribing..
Another interesting thing is that a admin or moderator hasnt even had the time to reply to this post or to me via a private message.. Pathetic again..
After all this is a Contact a moderator section..
I guess i'll just lurk around.. Luckily i only payed $2.

hey guys. These queries must go through outback bloke. Unfortunately i dont have the privileges to change your status. Your best bet is to keep trying to contact outback bloke, but you must also remember that moderators are people and have work/family commitments ontop of running this forum.
I do agree with above, its only fair that once youve paid your subscription (even if it is only $2) that you should be bumped up to the level you have paid for.
just remember to the other users out there that these websites cost money to run and this money has to come from somewhere.
these forums are the most technical, helpful forums that ive ever been a part of, helping countless people troubleshoot their issues and modify their cars. Dont take it for granted.
cheers

Hmm, sounds like for me, staying "not subscribed" and bugging my friends with "gold" memberships when I can't post would still be easier.EAS51 wrote:So far its not so easy.. I payed on the 23rd. So we shall see how long it takes.
2 private messages have already been sent to Outback bloke.
I haven't heard anything either time. So hmm.

I see his status as online all the time..
Or if you go to his profile theres a part where it says he was online last.
So he is definately lurking around..
Maybe someone that knows him personally should talk to him or get this stuff done..
I payed via Bank deposit..
I don't have paypal.
The option is there so no matter what it should be done when he sees it.
I don't understand why were waiting.. If he wants the job of admin and wants to keep this forum running he needs to get this stuff done.

AFAIK Brett (outback bloke) is one of the original crew if not the original bloke who got this forum started. To say that he wants this job of administrator is probably the wrong way to look at it. He's certainly not as active on this forum in posting as he used to be, so it's maybe more of a point of doing the greater subaru community a favour by keeping this forum operational.EAS51 wrote:If he wants the job of admin and wants to keep this forum running he needs to get this stuff done.
I am, for one, grateful for the services of the organisers/sponsors and the moderators of the forum for keeping it running smoothly - I've learned a pot load on this forum and have equally paid it back (In my opinion) to others on the forum as that's what it's all about!
And if you paid bank deposit, maybe he's waiting for a bank statement?? Stranger things have happened.
Cheers

Sorry I didn't get to this sooner. It says I am logged in "all the time" as every time a browser is opened by some one here, this page comes up as the home page. That includes my wife and kids. I haven't read a post on here for months and only found out about this one from Captain Obvious.
Your subscription is set. $2 well spent.
The subscription was initially paypal only and I had people whinging because they didn't have a paypal account, so I changed it. I think I might change it back. It costs nothing to have one and is dead simple to set up.
