Spam/other alerts

Hey guys,

As I'm pretty busy these days and don't get the time to go through every thread I thought I'd start up a thread where you can alert the mods about anything funny regarding spam etc.

Post away below and we'll get it sorted as quickly as possible.

if you have any queries or anything you'd rather discuss privately don't hesitate to send me or any of the other regular mods a PM.

Also please keep this thread to alerts only. No discussion please

I think this is someone that doesn't want to follow the rules and just use the site to advertise his cars, as he's posting in wrong sections and not follow the template already in the stickys...

I just did a search on the users location "hijkl87426" as I noticed it has been similar for this batch of spammers (working from a tablet or smart phone) and got a page of boards with the same spam. they seem to have started mid Europe and spread across Europe and Asia with a stop in the Middle East then on to us.

I would say this will be happening here for a while and quite a few more boards will be spammed yet

this email is at the website the spammer has linked to [email protected] in case anyone wants to talk to the people who are probably responsible.

Why don't we spam them back en masse or send them a DNS, i.e. fight fire with fire.

I'm doing my best to keep them out. I have changed the registration verification 3 times recently. Hopefully it will slow them down if not keep them out all together.

but our latest spammer Geriztul has been listed there for at least a few days now

Funny that the servers for cleantalk are in Russia where the attacks seem to have originated from

this site lists spammers email addresses so they can be put into the admins blacklist in the board tools
