Auto bump

Post by RSR 555 » Sun May 12, 2013 7:14 am

Hey guys, I think we need to revise this auto bump deal, as some of these appear when the user hasn't even been active. Also happens to threads that have been closed. Not sure what would be best but I think something similar to the way the old for sale section worked, say like only running for 2 months (or weeks I think would be better) as I feel this gives other users time to respond and then the OP user can resubmit if still needed.

What does everyone think and any thoughts on how to make it better?

I know it's not a big deal and don't want to make a fuss but would be good to sort out.

Cheers,
Paul

Hey mods, I think the old 'auto' thread bump needs to be permanently disabled, as we keep getting exited by the apparently 'new' stuff - but then rather exasperated by finding out its not ... :(

Do we have any mods left ? The number of times people have been able to get away with typing the word SHIT ..... even one mod has got away with it.

See what I mean just search for shit

I did, and it came up with over 11 pages of , well, shit. Very clever software - included thread on Daihatsu SCAT , a synonym , fourX letters begins with s ends in t

Got this when searching one current mods name in advanced

shit , shits

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.

The following words are either very common, too long, or too short and were not included in your search : ,

We have mods but real life makes it difficult for some to get to the board :)

hopefully I don't get banned for saying that :)

Seems pretty appropriate to me - maybe it utilises a thesaurus in it's search efforts :p

Thanks Jan,

No I haven't, but can you please advise the 'Admin' what's going on for us ?
As maybe there's a need for some 'house' keeping & few new 'mods' ... :)

Cheers, Bantum ...

Is Brett the only one with Administrator rights? as I see it's one of his threads that keeps auto bumping.. and come to think of it, I haven't seen him on here in a while

Super moderators should have the rights to change, merge and delete posts and threads.
While they can't ban members they should be able to suspend them for a period of time or at least until an admin can deal with the problem.

(I know I was able to do all of this when I was a moderator at SOD)

Normally admins are the ones that change the way the board operates; preferences, skins etc as well as the above.

Moderators and admins should be around on a daily basis :)
