Also....is anybody taking actual offsite backups of the NEW data we are putting here?
Twice for this to happen is twice too many 8O

Easier said that done. The last site was 1.5 gig in total. Doesn't sound like much until you start trying to download the backup. What we could do was back the data up to another server with our webhost which was done regularly. Obviously it didn't work real well.

At the moment it is simple to back up this site to my computer which is done once a week. Once it gets as big as the other site we are going to have the same situation again.

Is it best to just say goodbye to the old info and move on?

Shame we have no idea about post counts though.

Can everyone remember roughly what they had?

You've done a great job getting us off the ground again Brett. Thanks so much.

so it sounds like Bret can get at the old data.....ok its too much, but
I vote that the tech manual and its graphics get restored at the very least.

still theres some good info stuff in the old forums......maybe at least just the text...
Shame we have no idea about post counts though.
blah post counts :!: , I don't care :P not that I had a lot

I guess the picture gallery takes up most of the space, and there was no space limit on it was there?

If you do a gallery again, maybe this time put space limits per user,
and for the tech manual allow pics to be submitted to a moderator so they be stored on the same site with the wikki.

so they are just my 2c suggestions.....what you think?

I have not got the data back yet. I was told a week ago that it is back in his hands and we should have it soon. I will put every thing back up again as it was but will spend time refining things a little so downloading backups will be easier.

Why not putting the new data into different folders for each month. That way they arent so big to download.

I have just contacted fair trading again to see if they can do any thing for us. It appears as though the mob we had all our stuff with is back in business.

The following is who they are. Any one remember who it was that lived near there? Is it Alex? Any one want to drop in and ask for our data back?

I think Fred-sub and myself would probably be the closest, I might get a chance to pop down on friday.

An actual address might help, visiting a PO Box probably won't do much.

I seem to remember that Smoov knew him or where he worked or some thing like that. Also the fella that set it up for us to start with was Daniel Mead. Any one know of him? Apparently he has had a falling out with them too and knows where to find the person in question.
