yes, i can see the template (i have used it 100 times). i clicked post quick reply instead of go advanced to jazz it up (also add contact details). and as i cant edit it straight away as its waits for the 'review' process.
i have been given to option/notice to amend the changes.

cheers brendan

If it's left up to the individual person to do ensure the formatting is right then people are either not going to follow it or just accidentally stuff it up which annoys them and causes long delays.
Wouldn't it be better to force all posts in the Forsale section to conform to a per-set template by default? Surely this isn't too difficult to implement?

That is exactly what I have tried to do in the past. My php skills are limited to what you see now. If I knew how to do that it would have happened ages ago.

Until we find some one that is willing to do some php work for us to set that up people have to conform to the copy/paste/edit way of putting up for sale ads.

I know every one is not a web designer and when effort is shown by using the template we will quite often edit/fix the ad and then approve it. When there is no attempt to follow the format we simply disregard the ad.

It is not difficult to do. I know it can be a bit tedious when multiple items are advertised. All we ask is that effort be put in on the behalf of the seller. We don't charge for the priveledge of advertising or using the board, we simply ask that certain rules be adhered to.

We, as moderators, aren't trying to be mongrels about this and we don't like doing it. We do have to stick by our standards and every one has to comply with them.

The easiest way to do it is save the template to your hard drive in a "word" or similar program. Then when you want to sell some thing just open that file, create your ad, copy it and then paste it in to your new post. There is nothing hard about that and you don't even have to be online until you are ready to sell.
