Brightening faded photo help please

Hey there,
just wondering if anyone is capable of brightening a photo for me. I'm useless at this type of thing...basically it's a shot we had taken in thailand, that must have been printed on pretty average paper, and we've then set it up near the sun. Needless to say it's faded to buggery. Is it salvagable? I've attached it for anyone to give it a go. Let me know other suggestions. Was going to try Camera House, but they're not open today, and thought i'd try online first. Would really appreciate any help. Thanks very much,

having a play in photoshop, if i have any luck I will post the image but so far the yellow is really hard to work with.

had a bit of a play and this is what I managed but I reckon someone else with more savvy about these things will do much better.

Yep thats about as far as I got as well. I did a black and white which shows more detail




but to get any true detail you would need a high resolution scan of around 600 - 1000 dpi to get as much detail as possible.

My wife had a few goes at it, these were the best results, as TOONGA has said the low resolution doesn't help but the main issue is the sunlight has bleached the colour from the image, there is nothing there to recover.




I wouldn't say the paper used was cheap, most photo's will suffer from bleaching in direct sunlight, even indirect sunlight will have an effect over time.

For future reference, original pictures are best stored somewhere safe away from sunlight, moisture and extreme temperates, make copies for putting on display.

it was while I was mucking about with the black and white that the little guy became apparent, so I went back and did the best I could with the colour.
