For sale adverts - cliches

Post by sven '2' » Fri Apr 08, 2011 12:20 pm

What gets your goat with cliches in adverts on forums, ebay, carsales and the like?

To assist, first defining a cliche (sourced from the good people at WP)

A cliché or cliche (pronounced UK: /ˈkliːʃeɪ/, US: /klɪˈʃeɪ/) is an expression, idea, or element of an artistic work which has been overused to the point of losing its original meaning or effect, rendering it a stereotype, especially when at some earlier time it was considered meaningful or novel.

Mine

Want to see it go to someone who appreciates this car

Priced for a quick sale as need money for house/kids/operation

You will not be disappointed

In good condition, but top coat is peeling on boot, roof and bonnet

No RWC supplied, but will pass easy.

Powerful yet economical engine

And my personal favourite

Has AC, worked fine, just needs a re-gas

what about a cliche used at workshops where tight fisted owners want to get away with not fixing something ..." we're selling it"
