I know small swamp aka little puddle aka big pond sell a device that does what you want but it is around 200 dollars.
another other alternative is http://lifehacker.com/5563196/turn-your ... i-repeater
which will need a degree in electronic engineering to configure
EDIT ebay have these little beautysIm sure they would enhance testicular growth as well
or this one the little mosters using it seem very happy

something like this might be goer. I spose it would be nice if i could hotspot my tablet or phone into this thing and use that to run other devices within my house.

Is your router a wireless N type?

Wifi is never going to be particularly reliable, cable is always your best bet.
If you're not in a position to run network cable you can use ethernet over power adaptors.
A few here to choose from: http://www.techbuy.com.au/searchcat/NET ... _POWER.asp
Netgear would be my pick. No need to get the biggest and fastest, just get what suits your needs. If you're only interested in internet gaming then anything faster than your broadband connection is just a waste of money, if you want to stream SD movies 85mbps is fine, if you want to stream HD movies then go for as much bandwidth as your wallet will allow.

end-to-end wifi in home
Most of the house end-to-end problems come from multiple walls (esp brick walls) and/or other barriers in between the two communication points. These block or bounce (causing interference) the signal.
A) If your router has a detachable antenna (e.g my Dlink DIR-600), you could
1) replace it with a better one
2) and/or mount the antenna in the roof (v. important you get the correct cable, see e.g. http://x.net.au/wifi-antenna-cable/ )
B) Check your both router and Playstation settings- often there is a power setting and it may not be at max power.
C) You could also try your router in a more central or evenly spaced position in the house.
D) You could also possibly use a ethernet over power (BVCP suggested) with another router acting as a repeater at the other end near the Playstation. This starts getting hairy as you need to know how to set it up and some consumer equipment may not play ball as it won't have the features.
E) Some routers have more than one aerial to assist with reception, this may be an option, e.g. some Netgear routers.
