Feb fast 2012

Post by El_Freddo » Fri Feb 24, 2012 3:39 pm

Anyone else silly enough to be doing feb fast?

This is the second time I've done it now, the first was in 2010 as a bet with mum to see who could go the longest without a drink. We made a truce in late March...

This time around I thought yep, what the heck I'll do it again. And since I've made that decision summer's decided to step up and be an actual hot Australian summer! This is where I think I went wrong - summer to me at least, is the best time to be drinking!

Anyway, 5 more days to go, yes, it's also a leap year so it's an extra day. And I'm really hanging out for a rum - not because I'm an alcoholic but because I enjoy a drink from time to time...

Cheers

Bennie

I had a fast the last time I drank rum - 2 litres of the stuff was enough to turn me off alcohol for 9 months !! That was 26 years ago and I still can't stand the smell of black rum.

But nah I can't go more than a week or 2 without a bourbon..............

Yeah it's not I get hangovers - and it's not that I'm "getting old" - it was to do something different, but now I'm over it. Mum broke tonight and had a wine. I'll see it through even though I'm hanging for a bevvie - especially since our stable transport is now currently useless until I get the ignition sorted on it.

Cheers

I did it last year just for the challenge and to see if I would make it... In my case, I must admit that around 20 days in I didn't even wanted a beer anymore... a bit depressing, so to get over my frustration, I cracked one open on the 1st.March!!

Suggest you do the same with your vice of choice!

Cheers!

Yeah I'm seriously considering staying up until midnight on the 29th to see it roll over to the 1st of March and celebrate with a can or two. But I'm also thinking that's a bit sad to do, so I'll have to make sure that I've got someone around to drink with (the Kez should be there).

The best bit is that I've got 2 litres of rum to enjoy now - Sister just got back from Canada :D

Cheers

Man, that dark rum brings the nasty basty out of some people - may as well be on ice. Thanks for reminding me too - eight months since I've had to put up with bourbon breath p1ss heads

My wife and I are on a fast from alcohol and meat - we've done very well on the alcohol (none) but not so good on meat - we haven't used any at home but have eaten a bit at her folks or out for dinner. It's been a great experience, particularly the vegetarianism at it requires making decisions about what we purchase and what we put into our bodies... we won't be vego after this month but we'll probably consume less crap meat!

Call me a wimp but I just hate being drunk, it's not pleasant for me at all  And I've got better things to spend money on like an ageing subaru that needs a resto

Love the stuff mate! After finishing feb fast successfully I've had a drink every day since with the exception of tonight and last week due to work with students!

Good times had :D
