100Amp in gasless only , got it a few years ago at what was likely a good price - $220. Reason cheap was supposedly because Nuweld suppliers were putting their name ROSS on the new ones. Found a reference to Mitre10 selling same at 339 but was with a stand etc so hard to compare the value I got at the time.
I make the mistake of no practice, just get into the job and may be why my weld skills dropped off with my stick welder.
Think I am finding I have trouble with both getting that balance between getting proper welding, burning holes or no stick!
Have only just learnt different wire thicknesses exist for gasless MIGs and do not know what size I have in use or the spare roll.
The gasless has welded wire mesh to a trailer cage down to the tiny, tiny retainer clip ear on clutch throw out bearing that got broke in transit from the US me thinks...and just recently managed to endure a lump of molten stuff burn through two layers of cotton, brand me in one spot and burn a track, twist 90 degrees and sear me again 20mm away

I won't mention the loose gas fitting on the flame torch that suddenly turned from 'air' under my hand to a ball of flame under the car

So, questions:
should I be touching the wire tip to the work prior to squeezing the trigger, or just a pffteenth off the job ?
I do have to go back and look at SilverSams welding thread but fear his welding was first class and with gas.
The secret with panel steel on our subes ~0.9mm must be zap, move on zap, move on - stitching? And return to cooled panel to repeat process until all joined up?
If you have any tips for gasless MIG welding with budget end of market equipment ..please .........
