MY/Brumby bonnet protector

Post by Cliff R » Sun Jul 07, 2013 10:20 am

Does anyone have any info on available bonnet protectors for the MY/Brumby range.
I originally had one on my wagon when we first bought it back in 1998 and I am guessing it was a universal type as I there is no listing for one for these cars.
I am not at home this weekend but when I get back I will try to find a photo of the protector which I may or may not have.
Basically, it was very simply and was a U shape sitting vertically with a piece of Perspex in it and on a side face there was a channel where the connectors to the bonnet could slide making them adjustable for a variety of holes on the bonnet.
I know this is a crap description but if I can do up a sketch I will and post this later.
I do recall seeing these on other cars in the 1980's but not for a long while.
Unfortunately, I swapped the protector to another car to improve its saleability which worked but now I wish I still had it.
I have tried looking at Google Earth images but no good.

Rare ...

Yes I do remember seeing one ages ago, but they are pretty rare & generally it was an after market item, similar brand to the headlight covers as I recall ... ;)

I don't know what the name was + I've tried searching for it & had no luck yet ... :(

Good luck trying to find one now ... :p

Cheers, Bantum ...
