As BVCP said, use a FWD box.

Brumbyrunner: I dont want to spend $5,000 on someone elses toy. I want to build something to my taste.

the_postie: What do you mean by 'just use the ej auto cable turned around'?

I plan to build it to something similar to that pic up there, but have the back extended a bit, and have the motor pretty much right behind the seat, and yeah.

Or, if I could use the AWD box, have it 6x4 :D:D....6WIS

Other then extending the rear, and making a 'shortened' tailshaft, what else would be involved in mounting the rear diff on it? How are the WRX diffs mounted onto the body? The same as the MY/L's?

Would there be any dramas with having it 4wd?

Basically, I want to go dune jumping and stuff....... And go really really fast. And have it featured in car magazines

EJ autos by the sound of it use a similar auto shifting mechanism to, say, that of an X3 Excel. By that I mean the shifter in the cabin is connected to the auto box by a cable, not a solid linkage.

WRX diffs are mounted in pretty much the same fashion as MY / L diffs, although all the bracketry looks a fair bit beefier.
