vidler-spec workshop press

Here's what ive knocked up in the past couple of days. Was inspired to do so coz i needed to press some wheel bearings in to some new hubs. went and had a look at the cheap press's at the local Malz store, and one similar to this size, although it was only $120, looked weak as piss. So i rummaged through my spare metal and knocked this up. i did spend more than $120 but thats because i had to buy a half length of 100x8 flat bar, 40x40 RHS and 35x35 RHS. I still have 70% of it left as well. In my opinion it sh1ts all over the imported cheap stuff and should last a life time with a coat of paint. I just used my normal bottle jack, didnt buy one specifically for this, waste of money there i reckon.

The bits of square RHS either side of the jack have a spring inside them to bring it back up when u let the jack off. I also used a fitting that matches my porta power kit so i can use all the end pieces and extensions under the jack.
The adjustable bar is made from 2 bits of 100x50x2mm welded together, with a bit off 100x8 flat welded on top and some C section on either end.
If anyone is interested i can write up a material list and step by step instructions if your keen to make your own.
