Finally made it to 100.

By request...

Finally took possesion of the new toy - Toyota 100 series Landbruiser. I have an issues with being able to load pictures atm however if your interested there are a few pictures on the web shot link (http://community.webshots.com/user/Diane_Palmer) and you'll see the Toyota folder.

If nothing else this should keep us broke for a LONG time now. So far we're after a more touring package that can do the wkd fun.

Some quick specs
1999 modle 100 series (standard) we after the base modle work horse as we wanted barn doors, no carpet and no unessessary electrics windows etc.
4.2L N/A diesel.
2" OME suspension lift (although i think that it has sagged a little and may need replacing).
Bull bar including Cubie spot/spread lights (also includes escort lights and addition rear lights).
cb and hands free.
Dual rear tyre carrier (6 rims and tyers - tyers will need replacing soonish though).
Roof racks (x3 to better distribute loads should we ever get anything up there).
Rear draw system and Cargo barrier.
Fire extinguisher, first aid, small amount of recovery gear at this stage blar blar blar.

Needs a good clean (underneath is very dirty) however at this stage its a good honist truck so fingers crossed. Oh and i should add its SO SLOW and BLOOOOODY HUGE!!!

Next mod will be the addition of some gas and this should happen in the next few weeks with any luck (this will be followed by tyres - as i may need them to pass the gas over the pits).

Anyway i am sure i'll meet some of you in person at some point (hopefully it'll be on a dirty track somewhere).

Congrats a good second to subaru.Daul spares and drawers good score.Seems like this board is going down the path of the os one........Toyota.

And these are once die hard Sube fans, Lapsed, Devil Dave, a few other names that I cant remember, now you Craig, who's next...? GASP

I could never see myself owning a 4 wheeled 'sherman tank' for offroading in.

But as long as these guys are happy...right...that's all that matters. hehe

We'll try not to judge ya tooooooooo hard.

all the true die hard fans have been around a lot longer and are not going anywhere fast

hey craig....congrats on the purchase...i was gonna get a 100 series but for me its a little too new and edpensive for my luxiries as i would need minimum gxl with electric windows etc....

Seems like it isn't really a good thing to do.

Congrats on the purchase Jaffa, I hope you keep the cheap old faithful L series wagon for the times you want to go offroad without falling asleep with pure boredom and when you want to stand out from the crowd once in a while

Diesel gas is a very good mod for the old oil burner. It improves economy slightly and gives a lot more power. It is Injected pre throttle. Kinda like NOS

it cost about $3-3500 and the gov give you $3k back

gas with desiel is a very gwd thing to do makes heaps more power n if u want even more power put a 6.5 V8 brunswick desiel in it then it will have bulk power well done on the purchase hope it goes well 4 ya

Agreed, although some of us are. I'll still be on here and think there are plans to finish and keep the RX.

Thanks for the info Andrew however make Google your friend and read some more (no offence intended) we all know that we can find whatever we need to support our agruments on the net/web.

Each to their own Dave. Although maiden voyage today, on the power lines, and I am telling you as much as I love the Subaru’s there was a heap of stuff there that no Subaru is going to do.

The reason for the the move is that I am not going to attempt to do a lap of Oz in the Subaru with a family – hence the attraction to the Cruiser.

I bet a stocko base model cruiser would have trouble too

I'm keen to get back out to powerlines in the wagon and see what she can tackle, last time I went with a bunch of guys from Perth-4x4 she went everywhere they did without any worries at all (until I had an unfortunate breakage haha).
Anyways I think there will always be a *slight* bias on this forum towards Subarus!

Well Deb and I have done the big trip twice now , first time in a Subaru that I basicly built , and no dramas

sounds good yeah.. I've heard and seen Gas with Diesel combo it does burn better and gives you power gain, i drove an old Toyota Surf a while ago and i was impressed of how much power it had, even could climb that hills after Bucchus Marsh without loosing speed at 110kph.
