Hey all,
I'm interested in specialising in performance modifications ie. turbos, engine rebuilds, engine mods etc. All the fancy stuff that normal garages don't do.
But i'm not sure what the profession is called?
Its not a normal mechanic is it?
Anyone know whats its called.. or actually is one and what do i have to do after school to be one?
thanks.

Like... Cylinder Rebuilder/Heads specialist etc?

I think its a mixture of precision engineer and engine mechanic.
Cheers

I believe they are called "tuners" now. First step would be to complete a mechanic apprenticeship and go from there. If you can find one in a tuning shop you'll be on your way.
